Hey guys, thanks for your help and patience. The black spot was gone the day after I noticed it, so it must've been a piece of dirt or a piece from his vine (which is still not good, but better than mouth rot).
Laurie, I also would like to thank you much. I'll make sure to switch things up. :)
In that case, she most definitely has to be older than 6 months. Very strange case with PetSmart getting her pregnant... I might ask around to determine if she is indeed pregnant.
Oh well in that case 5-10 feeders every day to every other day is good :).
Also she would be gravid unless she was bred before she was sold (and being 6 months old that would be near impossible). Jackson's do not lay infertile clutches like panthers and veileds, but they will lay "slugs" if...
It's ok. But one of the first things you will learn on this forum is that you do not trust anything that PetSmart or PetCo says. They are uneducated and care for their animals incompetently. For a baby her age, she SHOULD be eating about 20 pinhead crickets a day. What is she eating at the...
You guys are all so lucky :( I don't know what the weather will be like in the Centennial State... sometimes we get all four seasons in one day. And very nice pics. :)
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care? Veiled; male; approx. 17 months old; in my care for 5 months
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon? Usually every other day because he begs for attention.
Feeding -...
My veiled loves attention, which is very rare especially for veileds. I wouldn't be surprised at all if a chameleon doesn't want to be handled, these are definitely creatures of beauty and like to be left to be watched. But if you want him/her to get used to you, hand feed and show yourself...
Roaches, crickets, silkworms, hornworms, butterworms, phoenix worms/calciworms, grasshoppers, katydids, and much much more. What species do you have? Your username says Veiled, but your avatar has a panther. Fruit can be given occasionally to veileds, but it's sugary so I would recommend...
There are rumors that 10.0 bulbs are too bright for chameleons. As some other members said, 5.0's are made for arboreal/tropical species and 10.0's are made for desert species such as beardies. I certainly would like to see that 8.0 bulb come out... :(
I can't believe I'm THIS late to this thread! :(
Dubias. Dubias. Dubias. They cannot do anything you have listed. They don't make noise, very very easy to breed, don't stink, can't climb, and can't fly. Unless you live in Florida, they cannot infest a house. Dubia roaches are from tropical...
Haha that's great :D This morning when I was giving Yoshi his morning shower he decided to just climb on the pump while I was misting :/ Our little explorers...
Welcome to the forums! :) You will find much different and correct info on here than you will at a pet store. Just a few points...
-5.0 UVB linear; Arcadia bulbs are the best out there
-Incandescent house bulb (same output as store bought bulbs); create 80-85 degrees F temps for basking...
Please understand that we are just here to help. Forums are made for Q's and A's, and sometimes a little constructive criticism. It's not meant to degrade you, it's meant to help you in the future. This is personally the most friendly forum I have ever seen. I'm sorry for your Jackson's.
My veiled drinks like that all the time from the cups that catch the drips from his mister. I keep them clean and wash them every day. I even hand-water him sometimes. :) Of course, he likes to drink from leaves when I'm not watching. I know this because he has no signs of dehydration when the...
They can be very colorful! They do show many greens, as well as blacks, browns, grays, etc. Other Jackson's owners may be able to tell you, I have never had one. Jacksonii's are the brightest subspecies of Jackson's.
