I have no clue about this (placebo-effect?), but it doesn't sound very logical to me. If it were true, why bother growing big plants with buds? And why wouldn't coffeeshops over here sell leaves as well as buds?
It´s only what I read, I never ate it. Maybe I got it wrong and the process with animal fat is only to get the THC out, so you don´t have to eat the bud itself ;)
We have a lot of marijuana plants here in the Netherlands, but I only know one single person who had a plant in his free range set-up (and he is a strange person). It isn't illegal here, so no problem with any laws, but there's no reason to do it, other than for decorative purpose. In case a...
Interesting thread!
I have two experiences to share. The first one is a baby T. sternfeldi that I had seven years ago. It was CB and from a clutch of about six babies in total. Its siblings were normal, but this one had something that looked like a small blister on top of its head. I believe it...
Thanks for the advice! I believe I read something like this in an article in Herpnation (searching quickly...) -> yes, Herpnation, issue 3 2010. It's a great article written by Luis C. Wiedemann and Dr. Nicolá Lutzmann :) Anyway, I'll definitely keep it in mind and make sure there's a pre-dug...
This year I bought deremensis for the first time. I have a young CB or CH pair from the same clutch (I will not breed them together of course) and an adult WC pair. The WC pair was sub-adult when I got them. The male's horns were still quite small and his lips still green, but the latter would...
I considered them an addition to my 'big chameleons', but they became a bit more important after I heard Tanzania is closed. Besides, they reproduce a lot faster than those big guys, so I can enjoy hatching babies etc. a bit more often :)
@ Shawntea, have you noticed I live in the...
Hi everyone, I had some brevicaudatus hatching from their eggs so I'll share some photo's and (incubation) info.
I had a group of 1.2 adults in a well planted terrarium for a while when I realised I couldn't really see if there was any activity on the soil. I've had brevicaudatus eggs hatch...
I know this thread is a bit old, but I think I just figured out what the chameleon in photo 3 is. I found boehmei a decent guess considering the form of the head and the small dorsal spines, but the lateral stripe didn't fit with that. I think it has to be a K. uluguruensis female. For those of...
Last time I spoke with him was in April (2011) on a reptile event. It was the last day he had a function within the board of the Dutch chameleon society (KVN) and I believe he said some of his animals died while he was on vacation and someone else took care of them. I'm not sure about the eggs...
It does suck, but it might also have been due to her age. I bought her in March and she was already adult then. No clue how old she was or how old they can get. Those eggs probably did cost her a lot of energy, but at least there will (hopefully) be a next generation.
Yes, I always place...
Well, I have an update, but it's not a positive one. I just found my female dead on the soil in her terrarium... Yesterday she looked fine, I fed her the day before. She did eat a bit less lately, also during the time when she was gravid (2nd clutch). Well, common story I guess. I'm glad she...
Thanks a lot for all the positive replies everyone! :)
Interesting to read some of you have observed the "eating a chicken legg" behavior in other species as well. I have kept matschiei, multituberculata and vosseleri in the past, but I've never seen them do it (though I had a lot less time to...
Hi everyone,
This is my first post on the forum, so I'll give a short introduction on myself.
My name is Ferdy, I'm a wildlife management student from the Netherlands and I've been keeping chameleons since 2001. My current collection consists of R. brevicaudatus, T. quadricornis, montium...
