Hi!
So I´ve heard that lot of people freeze their mealworms so they dont turn to beetles. But I got some questions about this:
1. Will they eat while being frozen?
2. Do we talk about the freezer or just the cooler?
3. If I gutload them before freezing, will they be gutloaded when I feed...
It was some time since I posted something so might do an update! :)
Stella is growing fine, drinking alot and is basically running around all over her cage. A very active chameleon.
She did today decide to freshening herself up by shedding for christmas! (Pic below) The place she is in on the...
This is a swedish site, but you get the deal : http://www.cyberzoo.se/terrarie-reptil/foder-reptiler/torkade-insekter/
Anyone had any success with feeding this to their chams?
Well, right now when she is so little I got her in a exo terra. So I got a catch bowl for the dripper with mesh over it. And the excess water getting on the floor I dry up using a towel everynight before she go to bed. But when I get her a meshcage I´ll solve this problem much better. But till...
Im leaving home next friday and will be home on sunday night. I can arrange with the food problem easy, just leave a few extra bugs lose and provide her with worms in a bowl. But the WATER! I dont have a mist system, im doing it by hand and got a dripper. She is 4 months old and are in good...
Sure I can, but not close to me.. and with the Swedish weather this time of year im not really comfy with driving too much!
I guess I can feed of the roaches, it was meant to start of a breeding colony but maybe I can do that in the summer
Thank you so much! Could not ask for a better answer! :) Well the trouble im in right now is that im living faaaar away from the reptile store here in Sweden and they dont really ship at winter. I do have about 100 small crickets that are about to grow into size for my cham and some turk roaches...
Will mealworms even provide my cham with any nutrition at all? Same thing goes with the mealworm beetles, are they any good? And yes, they both are gutloaded. :)
You can sort of cupfeed them. Put the fruit on a stick and place it somewere you know that your cham is walking often. This worked with mine atleast :)
This is what I do and it works kind of good. I fill her cup with the powder, ALOT. So even when they are all dusted there are still a cover of powder in the bottom, that way.. when she shoots she gets a decent amount of powder on her tounge aswell.
HAHYAHA I deal with that right now too... she also likes to **** in the waterbowl that catches water from the dripper.. Dont matter where I put her cup, she WILL aim for it anyway. They suck sometime! haha.
