    not eating the Dubai's

I've heard threatening to turn off the chameleon's UVB and taking away his spray bottle often works! :D On a serious note, I would have to suggest that you just not give him a choice. The chameleon will eat it when he's hungry enough.

Spike opens his mouth wide and puffs up his chin

Could be yawning. If his color changes, and he starts rocking around, he's pissed ^^

    HELP ME! Silkworms dying!

Yea, I read that way and decided to err on the side of caution. I've only ever used them as a treat so I don't know the long term effects of using them as a staple first hand. I will definitely give them a go though, thanks for your input! -=)

    HELP ME! Silkworms dying!

I'm just being cautious but I don't think I would use that tree if it poisoned my feeders. I'll have to research on silkworms again and try breeding them myself. I like them over superworms because they can actually grip stuff and walk around on the vines. The only reason I never used them is...

    HELP ME! Silkworms dying!

I meant silkworms. I've read many posts about them not having any chitin that chameleons need. It's the main reason I never used them as a staple...

Keep your eye on your chameleon (graphic)

I don't see what's wrong with it. People post pictures of a chameleon's necropsy and nobody seems to have a problem. He did add that it was graphic so people had a warning ^^

    HELP ME! Silkworms dying!

You should not be using silkworms for a staple diet. They should only be given as treats. Try Dubia roaches and/or crickets. Sorry, I don't know much about the worms.

The reason why you should never use substrate.

I was speaking strictly about coco fiber and larger pieces of substrate of course. I should have been more clear about hat at the start of my thread. Sand, I don't think is a problem because it's fine enough to pass through the chameleon's digestive system. Eat large amount of it can't be...

The reason why you should never use substrate.

I always figured using substrate would be more difficult to clean. It seems many people use substrate in pygmy setups. I've never kept them myself so I wouldn't know too much about it. Almost every time I've seen substrate being used (I did too early on), I have heard about problems with the...

The reason why you should never use substrate.

I'm curious about this. So, you're keeping colonies of feeders with your chameleons? What type of substrate do you use?

Maintaining My guys happy and Healthy ((TiPS ARE WELCOME ))

He's got some almost "transparent" areas on his cask and feet. This is a trait that some people like, and these are called translucent veilds. They usually sell for more than regular veilds...

    he's a lil dink

Normal. Especially for veilds, I just find them more aggressive than other species.

Also, I notice a lot of the eggs look collapsed. I've never seen this, do you know what it could be? Maybe lack of calcium?

    He suddenly hates me!

Veilds can be quite aggressive, sometimes when they start to mature, they realize that they can do you harm. When I handle my more aggressive chams, I just put my hand below them and kinda tap their bum until they walk onto my hand.
