I'll try next spring. I'll try with mantis again too....Hopefully, it'll work out this time.

    last hopper of the year

I would only do it in a place where you know for a fact there is no pesticide use. I sometimes do it, but I don't recommend it to others...yea I'm a hypocrite. There are risks involved that's why (pesticides and parasites) The only place I get them is deep in the ravine behind my place when...

    super worms

Sunken eyes are a sign of severe dehydration. If you cannot take her to a vet I would offer her a warm shower. You can do this by putting a plant in the shower and have warm - not hot water showering over half the plant. Make sure she can get out of the water if she wants. Put her inside and...

The reason why you should never use substrate.

I just get scared with my chams. Especially when babies die, you always wonder what you could have done to prevent it...

    last hopper of the year

Tried to breed these over winter once...failed horribly. They are so noisy too, make crickets sound quiet.

The reason why you should never use substrate.

I may consider trying for one of my glass enclosures but I'm still scared for the babies.... It must work wonders for humidity issues too.... 50/50 sand and peat moss you say? Funny as I started this thread to warn others about not using substrate and here I am considering it.... LOL. Although...

    Escapee Crickets and other questions

Crickets will get loose in your house no matter how hard you try to contain them. You can set up traps for them using something warm like a heat pad and those sticky mouse traps with some fish food sprinkled on it. I just put a bit of calcium in a cup throw a cricket inside and shake it...

What are the most desirable traits for breeding panthers??

I don't consider myself a professional breeder but I usually keep panthers that are good example of what the locale is supposed to look like, and color. For example, for Sambavas I will keep the males that have a classic U bar. Some just have really nice colors at an early age, I keep those guys...

    Baby Enclosure

So I got a 36x18x36 Exo Terra glass enclosure than I'll be using for a baby tank. Built a stand, went out to the ravine to gather some vines, and added some plastic foliage I had laying around. Just wanted to share and see what everyone thinks! Always looking to improve so let me know. I had...
