If you want to raise it, you could go the cheap way and rip up cardboard and make multiple columns for it to sit on. As long as the cage is stable that is, otherwise the lamp could fall :/. But I like using cardboard columns for support and added height anywhere :)
thx for the input. I think I'll do that sooner than planned, just to check. She hasn't been eating too well yet since she moved from crickets to superworms and she hasn't been eating so I'm about to try crickets or silkworms again. I don't want to introduce her with her being underfed :/
Babies love to explore EVERYTHING. When they are born they typically begin looking for food and some shelter. They will go to great lengths to find these, so climbing upside down is normal :P. Remember that not only are they more sensitive, but their body heat is much lower to ours. What we...
Though I don't know the real difference, it seems the rescue's head shape is a bit different. The skull looks pronounced in the back and over the eyes.
A couple days ago, she was apparently seen by my male since he was hauling around his cage for 2 days. I fixed his little glory hole and I'm a little worried she may have just started to become gravid for her first time. She was flared up when I took the picture cause she does not like cameras...
All my friends say the light in my room is dim, so its not very bright. I checked up on them cause I set them up not even a week ago and have been gauging the humidity and temperature at night to make sure the humidity doesn't drop. I just don't want to make insomniac chameleons if I don't use...
Pushpins: only as good as your strength. Pain to get in thick branches, but hold very well when they do.
Zip ties: excellent and easy, but keep everything in one unit which is problematic if your moving anything. Just make sure you clip the long bits :P
So whenever my cham's lights go off, I just hang up a large sheet since they are in my room and I need to be up past nine. I think it gets the job done very well since I need small light if I need to get behind it and check on them. But what I was wondering is how sensitive are chameleons to...
Kinda posted this on another guys thread, but just so it has its own.
I just got my chams and I really don't know how to hydrate them yet :/ I have my custom humidifier on their cage, and it has huge tubes that sit on the roof. They humidify the air, but since they are against the mesh, they...
That looks good personally. I really don't know how to hydrate my chams yet :/ I have my custom humidifier on their cage, and it has huge tubes that sit on the roof. They humidify the air, but also cause large droplets to fall for the full hour that its running every 5 hours. I've never seen...
Actually, if you can take your cage apart, I'd saw a small rounded hole in one of the side corners, lay the wire through there, and then reconstruct the cage. That way you don't damage the mesh and the gihugent bit can be inside :)
How big is your cage? I have two 2'x2'x4's and they are riddled with little holes from wear n tear :P. If your not planning on selling the cage back to a store, go for a bigger hole and cover it with ducktape.
I have a dual ultrasonic humidifier from Walgreens and I'm confused. It's been working great, but I've noticed that one of the tanks has been doing all the pumping and the other resovoir hasnt been touched. Manual says nothing about it. Something wrong?
Hmmm. Not sure about the poop. I was thinking if he wasn't eating then try other foods like roaches or superworms. Ask again on your own thread tomorrow, or consult a vet.
Basically what sdheli said. He's brightening up because you're there. I'm guessing if you reach in and get him out, he probably opens his mouth, dewlap blows up a little and raises an arm. I'm guessing he remains like that while your handling him.
As for the dark coloring, it could be that...
ya. Not fun lol. The superworms are seriously the worst though. Darkling beetles are no fun to have in your room, not to mention they smell to high hell.
haha thx. Trust me, I've almost lost worse reptiles (and arachnids 0.0). My least favorite, and most common, is losing lone superworms in your bedroom and them becoming darkling beetles. Hope you figure out your little criminal's escape attempts Sean!
