My girlfriend hated anything cold-blooded until she let Archimedes run all over her when he was younger. Now she's sad because Archimedes won't let her pick him up-he's much too aggressive. So, yah, Archimedes has had a very large impact on her!
WHOAH-you keep owls as pets! That is super...
Likes to make weird noises, eh? Mine sometimes likes to puff up under the basking light in the morning after I switch it on, and a little puff of air will escape him. Chameleons can be such strange animals, but we love them just the same :D
Oothecas are special types of egg cases that contain many, many, MANY mantis eggs. Generally they start out soft but harden later on. I've had a couple ooths in my garden but never bothered to keep one. I like mantids in the garden-they get rid of pests.
So when I got Archimedes he used this weird "walk"-raising one leg in front of him and jerking back and forth before putting it down. He then continued to do the same with his other front leg. (sort of like this cham https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mc0l05h7NIw ) I've seen many other chameleons...
Everybody is speaking the truth-Archimedes has slowed down and isn't as active anymore and won't eat as much since the first snow, but I've had this happen with him last year, so I'm pretty sure it's normal.
Looks like you got that picture from kameleons jvo.
It is a very nice animal, and very uncommon from what I'm seeing.https://www.chameleonforums.com/some-nice-pictures-90508/index158.html
