Appetite can be stimulated several ways, one of which is with UVA light (found in household incandescent bulbs):D
There are SOOO many possible causes for the behavior, see what the experts here (Brad is one) have to say, and seriously consider a trip to the vet, at least to eliminate a...
Yellow or orange urates is bad. It should be white. Your guy is in the process of dehydrating, better up the misting (5 to 15 minutes to really do some good). If that doesn't fix things a shower might be in order (search the forums on how)
Wouldn't hurt to re-read Brad's site for fine details ... ie: ditch the infrared heat lamp, a simple household incandescent is better (visually more natural – they can't see the red spectrum)
Digital therm/hum can be purchased for about $10 at KMart or Walmart. You really NEED these!
Can...
Okay, there are several things to deal with. Many will be found in Brad's excellent site http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/.
Read it and correct what you can (live plants are a must for several reasons)
Again, when you get a chance answer the question for your panther an...
Hi DeFishy, welcome!:)
Sorry you are having troubles, but if you follow Opihiman's advise and answer the questions IN DETAIL (for both chameleons, not just the sick guy) you will get some great info and advice.
He won't eat crickets but WILL eat blueberry juice?! Try the infamous BUGJUICE...
Hi Kontti,
Your little guy is a beaut!
If you want to get him a terrarium, try to get one with screen or plenty of ventilation (they are prone to respiratory infection in stagnant air).
Here is a link that will answer many questions you may have about your visitor...
Good luck job hunting, man. Hopefully this will turn into a positive move for you! (keep track of your guys in case you want them back)
It is a sucky time to be out of work, but if you keep positive ... who knows?;)
You've only had him a week, give him time to OWN his territory, make sure his light, temps and humidity are optimum (real plants are a must – hanging pathos are cheap and our jacksons love 'em) and I'm sure he'll green up just fine! (unless he's a red-phase like our Pendergast)
As...
Hi Kontti, welcome to the forums! :D
Your little chameleon can eat crickets, grasshoppers, butterflies, moths etc. Check your local pet shop for "feeder" quality insects and search "gutload" here for tips on what to feed the insects so they are a healthy meal for the reptile. (on the green bar...
Talk about off-timing. You just missed the Ontario (Mississauga) Reptile Expo on the 16th of November. There were lots of Panthers and Veileds (sorry to rub it in)
I'll ask around and see if anyone nearby has some available. In the meantime scour this site, as well as any others you can find...
Hey Elliot/Sandy!
Just got my shipment yesterday (all the way to the great white north already ... I'm impressed)
I'll let you know how my guys fare when I get a chance to read through the instructions and dose them.
Thanks for the quick action.
