    Success!!

Sorry everyone, I've been busy the last week and haven't had time to read ur replies. But yes, breeding anything is a very successful feeling! And Laurie don't be sad, everyone buys insects one time or another. Thats how people start their own breeding projects. Keep at it and once u have a...

Finally! My cricket, mealworm, and dubia roach breeding project seems successful! Over a 1000 pinhead crickets  and well on my way to producing mealworms and dubia roach babies! I'll eventually get around to making easy step-by-step tutorials with pics on how to breed feeders for people...

Chamillionare wont open his eyes PICS!

Hi all, Chamillionaire is a baby veiled chameleon that I've had for a week. I bought him online from LLLReptile and wen i got him he had a problem with his right eye where he would barely ever open it. Now the problem has escalated to both eyes. He barely ever opens them and he just sits around...

    basking light options

I would just stick with an incandescent bulb but find a balance between the bulb wattage and distance from the basking spot that gives u the temps u want

    No substrate

This sounds like the best option cuz u already know its cham safe and its washable and reusable. Good input :)

    No substrate

I've never seen a paper towel break apart like toilet paper. Especially when its just spread out on a flat surface where water is dripping on it. If nothing is pulling on it besides the chameleon occasionally walking on it, I dont see it breaking apart at all. This is just my opinion from...

    basking light options

U could try something with more power. Like a 60 watt incandescent
  9. Nate135

    No substrate

U can put paper towels on the bottom but no substrate cuz the cham can accidentally swallow things

    UVB question

It is ideal to have a tube that covers the length of the cage. So it would be a better idea to have a 36" tube if ur cage is 36"

    Chameleon skeletons

When u dip the bones with muscle still attached into the hydrogen peroxide, do u let it sit in the peroxide for awhile or just dip it and then scrape with the scalpel?

UVB Tube and How to do so?

The fixture will have a specified wattage on it and u want to buy a bulb with the same wattage. As for buying lights online, I bought one from ebay and it was shipped really well

UVB Tube and How to do so?

Olimpia is correct, there r many mixed opinions on 5.0, 8.0, or 10.0 UVB lights. 5.0 is most commonly recommended. Some people say that 10.0 is too powerful and others actually use 10.0. I personally went in the middle and use 8.0. U'll figure out wut is best for ur cham by trying out a light...

UVB Tube and How to do so?

I've never done it that way so i'm not sure. I will say that if u do it that way then make sure u monitor ur cham. If the light is too close it might be too much for him/her. Also if u do it that way, use a 5.0 light rather than an 8.0 or 10.0 becasue the 5.0 isnt as intense. I'm not saying its...

UVB Tube and How to do so?

Yes, a 2 foot fixture is good for a 2 foot cage cuz u want the uvb's to have full coverage across the cage. A lot of people just put the light on top of the cage
