I've got the whole group but lost a few runts. They grow really slow. Sorry I haven't taken any photos lately. I've been super busy starting a new business and pursuing two patents. Having a rough time sexing them.
No such thing as quiet crickets, although the older you get the less you can hear them. I've lost my high frequency hearing so I can stand in a room with 100,000 crickets and not hear a peep.
Bummer. I raise all my montanes in bins for at least the first three months. The only screen being on the top. They dehydrate and die if I don't do that, no matter how much I mist. With the bins, I only mist once per day because they are fully planted and hold humidity really well.
I hear you. I have a mail order business where my products are lightweight, but the minimum box size now falls into their oversize category. The new rates are running me out of business because in some cases the shipping costs more than the merchandise. And I get hammered every day about "my...
Without knowing exactly what species of fischers you have, I can't really hazard a guess as to what his normal coloration should be. But they are all montane which require cooler temps. They typically warm up in the mornings, then retreat to cooler parts of the enclosure. So if you are just...
I just noticed your supplement schedule, I'm assuming a typo where it says 3X daily. I'd be cautious about D3 supplements, if you can find one with low D and give only once to twice a week would be preferred. Which species of Fischers you have makes a difference on that too. K...
Sounds like you are doing fine except for the basking temps sound a bit too high especially for a glass cage. I keep mine in the 60's ambient with basking up to about 80F, strong night time cooling. I've kept them into the 40's F at night in winter. They are a montane species that like it...
I wouldn't stress about it unless you had a cham species that eats foliage. I've kept my montanes on avocado trees and saplings for a long time. I sprout them in the enclosures from seed. I wouldn't hesitate to keep a parsons on one.
You might consider becoming a forum sponsor. Your first post here to advertise your new business venture is a bit questionable, but welcome to the forum nonetheless. :)
Thank you everybody for your kind words and support! I was really curious as to how long the incubation was going to be and guessed six months based on the species similarity to K. tavetana. It turned out to be right on. Also was really curious as to what the babies would look like. I am very...
Zero. There was only one fertile egg from a retained clutch. I missed the opportunity to breed her in time when I mistook her receptive signals for non-receptive. The darker colors and the hand waving is actually her telling the male she is receptive.
That's what happens when you are the...
