Yes the material its self acts like an insulator. We tried the bulb type for heating and went more with a forced air type the bulbs tend to dry it out and had cool spots. Good luck with yours.

It was designed with 1/2" insulated plastic and has 2 cooling fans mount to keep even air temps and no cold spots. I guess its easier for us being a reptile caging company we have access to these materials and parts.

The cooler you can get at walmart for around $50. Yes we hatched panthers chams , pythons and monitor eggs in this system.

I see their are 2 types of heat lamp fixtures out their the dome style which allow you to use spot bulbs to focus more heat downward and the combo type that you cant use a spot bulb only a standard light bulb and dont direct heat downwards as good due to it mounting sideways in the fixture...

Have any of you guys ever witnessed or tested eggs spacing and it being a factor to how far apart each egg will take to hatch. Either 1 at a time or all or most.
We keep ours about 1/2" apart but have alos tried 1/4" apart.
