Why did you name your cham what you named him?

Sounds like those of us who have kids don't have much of a say-so! Looking forward to the names my future kid(s) will pick for my future chams :)

Why did you name your cham what you named him?

Thanks! It's actually kind of funny, since Krakatoa is a dangerous, active volcano...and my tiny little guy is, well, not so threatening. Unless you're a bug :). Decided to name my Ambilobe female Java, since it's another Indonesian Island. And her colors often look like a cup of java.

Why did you name your cham what you named him?

I named my 2.5 month old ambilobe male Krakatoa, after the volcanic island of Indonesia. His father, Son Tiger, is one fiery looking panther. Hopefully mine will be too! There are strong hints of red coming in....wish I had a good DSLR!

    My 3 month old Ambilobes

Lol, the second to last pic's caption could read "if you're happy and you know it, clap your hands..." And update/edit...I had their ages a bit wrong. The male's age is closer to 2.5 months, and the female 3.5 months. Male's clutch hatch: 3/2-3/30- almost a month! And Female: 1/29-2/18. I just...

    Manzanita branches?

It is very light and mold resistant. I use my manzanita for outdoor sunning, and if I need to, in a reptarium for transport to the vet. My album has a picture of it. I think most pieces would need more than a tack for side attachment...maybe more like small diameter screw and 2" washers on both...

Best Reptile Expo in the Southeast?

Looking over the ETHS site had me cracking up: You just MIGHT be a herper if... you refer to a pregnant woman as "gravid".....your electric company asks if you want a professional account....you ask the local drug store for a No-Pest "Fly" Strip in January. Where is the ETHS expo held at...

Best Reptile Expo in the Southeast?

Wow, I just checked out the vendor list for NARBC. Quite a list. Over the years I have gotten a few herps from various vendors. And I would love to hear some of their speakers..Phil Tremper, Philippe de Vosjoli. Only 6.5 hour drive =) I will definitely try to make that show. I see I have missed...

Best Reptile Expo in the Southeast?

Hey, can somebody recommend a great reptile expo in the LA, east TX, MS area? I am willing to drive all day for a great expo. I plan on going to Repticon at Baton Rouge near the end of July, though I know not to expect to be overwhelmed. Thanks.

    My 3 month old Ambilobes

The male's (little guy) sire is Son Tiger. Photo is from KK's website. The female's sire is Thunder, which at the moment, I cannot find his picture. Bummer, because Thunder is gorgeous.

    Egyptian Mantis oothecae

Just thought I'd share my Miomantis paykullii ooth setup. They should be hatching in the next couple weeks, where I will feed them my fruit flies. I hear they can be a communal species. Anyone with experience with these guys want to chime in? I plan on raising them up, feeding some off to my...

    My 3 month old Ambilobes

Just thought I'd share some pictures of my new ambilobes from Kammerflage Kreations. Male is about 2.8 months, female is about 3.3 months. I've had them for a week now and took them outside for the first time. Their colors sure did change when I took them out. Normally the male is a contrast of...
