Cheers guys, there is a thread with my enclosure in the enclosure forum, my only concern is that the enclosure is too big for a young one, any thoughts?
Also for collecting it what is the best thing to give it a good ride, will be in car for just over an hour on way back. is a shoebox...
I'm at the stage now where I think I've done the reading, got my viv setup correctly and everything ready to go, I've arranged to go and visit a breeder on Sunday to look at a couple of chams. I've told them i'm after a male, I think they should be easier to start with not having issues with...
First episode was on tonight, you can watch it for next 7 days free at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ if anybody is interested. Very interesting. Good bit about chameleons at the end
Thanks, so is there actaully any harm in using straight tap water? The 20 scs in microwave im guessing is just to warm it up rather than remove any properties from the water?
Few questions about water for keeping A veiled cham.
Have setup a dripper system which drips water onto a few leaves and then into a dish at the bottom, which when the tub is full lasts a few hours, I have also got a mister ready to use few times a day as well.
What im unsure of is the...
I think I'm at a point now where I'm ready to get a cham fro my enclosure next weekend, I'm just doing a few things like set up the light timer, dripper etc. I've read some sites about lighting but they don't seem to say how many hours exactly the lighting should be on for?
Any help would be...

It's the plant in the centre, if thats not a good enough photo no probs in getting another
What the score with Scindapsus plant, the lady in the garden store looked it up and said it was the same as what I printed off from the plant database here, devils Ivy, but she said it is harmful for pets if eaten?
I don't have a cham yet, am in stages of setting up so could be way off but are you not supposed to let it get colder at night to allow them to sleep? Could that be the problem?
The reflector I brought has a glow coating inside so after the bulb goes off the reflecor glows for a little while which looks quite nice and so also simulates the 'cooling down' period I suppose, otherwise I guess you have to run both lights on seperate timers?
Thanks, Not sure I have anything I can hang light from so will have to sit either on top or clamp to side, will have a look at getting branches higher though.
How long should the UV light need to stay on for a day? same as heat bulb?
What the score with Scindapsus plant, the central plant...
Update!
Getting there. What are peoples thoughts suggestions? Not sure if I should have light positioned on top or side, on the side it gets closer to branches, I took photos in both locations. Think I need a higher watt bulb too. Currently the thermometer is resting on branches closest to...
Don't know about that, been finding that quite a few garden and pet stores have started opening reptile sections recently, start to find more and more places when you get looking and talking to people.
