I tried like 25 of those, Turkistan roaches, before I ordered some more. I didnt have any issues when I used a small cup for feeding. But for the record these were like 1/2" long and not adults :).
Hi Steve, Thanks for the video. Unfortunately the ones I am trying to feed don't have wings yet.
Yeh I am working on setting a Dubia colony, thanks to Jessica. I am also trying to setup a Turkistan roach colony.
I have to see if the roaches keep moving after I squih their head. From what...
Hi Everyone,
I have a bunch of lobster roaches and I am trying to feed them to my cham without much luck of getting them run loose in the cage. Those guys wiggle so much and fall of the tweezers and when they get on the screen they are so still that my cham doesn't notice them.
I also tried...
I didn't know that the calcium in the cricket crack can kill the roaches. I thought I read a post from another member who mentioned they always have a supply of cricket crack along with fresh veggies and fruits.

Looks like the pump that comes with the LLLReptile misting system and the Big apple misting system are the same. Does anyone know?
I bought a misting system about 6 years ago and I believe it is from LLLReptile. I have run it for more than 5 minutes at a time and I haven't had any issues. I...
Hi Sandra,
What grains, nuts and seeds do you feed your roaches? I assume you feed these to all the roaches, right? Oh do you grind these ingredients and then serve them to the roaches?
Michael
Hi Everyone,
I am using a Reptisun 5.0 fluorescent bulb for my 6 month old chamelon and it is placed on top of the screen cage. For the basking spot I am using a regular halogen bulb.
As far as I know not all halogen bulbs produce UVA rays and the Reptisun 5.0 produces UVA rays but how much...
Hello,
How often should I expect my 6 month old panther chameleon to poop? Also, do they pass urates when they poop or do they pass urates even when they are not pooping?
Thank you.
Michael
Hi,
What species of chamelon do you have? 80F to 85 would be a suitable basking spot temperature depending on the species. From what I know species like panther chameleons don't like it too hot so knowing what species you have might help.
You can use a water dripper for a water source and...
And I think you can also feed them pill bugs or sow bugs, right Sandra?
Quick question Sandra, in one of your post you mentioned you feed these bugs like once a week and I was wondering if you feed just these bugs during one feeding or do you use a few of these bugs along with the other...
Well, I was thinking of one that would drip so that cham would notice it and use it as a water source. I am not sure if the cham would drink from one that isn't dripping. I believe I read that the shiny tip would entice it but I am not sure.
Michael
Hi Kara,
I was going to use it as a dripper so I guess I will go ahead and get one. I might go ahead and leave a bottle in there too and see how it goes.
Michael
Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year!!!
Just curious, has anyone here tried using a small animal waterer, like the water bottles that you use for rabbits, guinea pigs, etc, with chameleons? Does that work?
Thank you.
Michael
Missed your reply Sandra.
Yeh I was planning on using a whole lot of greens and fruits for gutloading but I wasn't planning on any dry gutload. Is the dry gut load essential? I am sure it adds more variety.
Do you use the same ingredients for your other feeders too?
Oh, how do your...
So do you take the water that has been sitting for 24 hours and warm it before using it in the dripper?
How about the warm water for the misting? Same technique?
Is it the chlorine in the tap water that is harmful to the chameleons or is there something more to it?
Michael
Thanks for the feedback guys.
Brian, I assume that the mesh on the cup is to prevent drowning of the chameleon. So the tub from the dripper won't be over any leaves or vines? They will be positioned out in the open so the cham can lick the end of the tube?
Do you use filtered water in the...
Hi Austin,
Just cruious, I looked at the pictures in the original post and was wondering if you can tell me what prompted you to say the cham is frail? Is it the loose skin?
I don't own a chameleon yet but will have my first one next week and want to be able to tell if he is healthy or not...
