Now with drainage system!
Took everything out and cut out drainage holes at the bottom catch tray. Then I lined with a rubber mat and made sure that the center is the lowest center of gravity. No matter where you pour water it drains to the center :)
still trying to figure out a...
Can you reuse the drainage water for your drip system? Like what if I made the drain water go through some carbon back into the bucket then back into the cage?
I don't mean to be a **** but it pains me to see people get animals they know nothing about. I am a big believer that you must do research and research to properly care for an animal, especially with needs like a cham. The second you post not knowing they are not the most hand held animal along...
I have to agree with this ^^^ completely. Exotic animals are not strictly for entertainment. Especially for kids. The require time, money, and KNOWLEDGE. Please do not trade in a chameleon for another simply to possibly get a happier one. That is wrong. Get your kids a hamster.
It will be more cost effective to DIY. I made mine 38x38x18. If you go the Enclosures and Supllies Threads mine is the "New to Thread and Chameleon World...." you can see my DIY.
hopefully soon (waiting on paycheck) I am going to a 36in dual t5 fixture with 6500k bulb and a 5.0 uvb bulb. Can I set directly on my enclosure or how high should it be elevated?
I just got hired at petsmart as the fish and reptile guy. The manager said they have a really quick turn over for their reptiles. Their sections seems clean and right, they look pretty healthy for the most part. I'm actually excited to work there so I can assure the animals are in well being :)
Thanks again everyone. I am a big believer of research and proper time and money on animals that require a good amount of attention. I will probably move that branch to a lower spot then. So because our cham enclosures have a lot in them do you let your cham hunt crickets or do you target feed more?
Alright for lighting I am looking at 36inch dual t5 fixture. 1 bulb around the 6400k for plants and the other bulb the 5.0 UVB. This should be perfect for what I need. Still need advice on ceramic bulb for heat. Temp in house drops pretty low at night. Figured I would place the t5 fixture...
Thank you! I have owned many pets and currently own 2 reef tanks and a snake. I always want the best for my exotic friends always always do research before. I will talk to Todd and I think I still want a Veiled, I like the green color a lot but we will see. I probably won't get a cham till the...
Alright I will just stick with one fixture. Also UVB can grow plants. It's spectrum along with the added UVB is meant to simulate natural sunlight. Yes the plants are all safe. I will look for more foliage and find some vine like plants to add to the gap in the middle. I will probably add a...
alright how is this? I am going to get more branches for the top left. Do I need more overall though? Do I have enough foliage?
I plan on making a drip system using a simple aquarium pump to pump water through airline hosing which at the top will drip from many different holes sort of like a...
