A friend of Dave W's had one that recently had a clutch about 2-3 months prior. He said she was from a pet store...and she looked a little rough around the edges so I would assume she's wild caught... but she's acclimating well to her new environment, especially since I finished her totally...
The internet wasn't quite so prevalent in the 90s. It forces more of a competitive market. See something that looks like it's priced ridiculous...search around and you'll find the resources and information to get your hands on anything for a better price.
Funny...my jacksons does the same thing when I open his cage. He'll almost run straight up to the front and wait for me to put my hand up for him to grab on to. He's always "running laps" around his cage too. :)

Why is it....when I put my female in with my male jacksons, the male gets all exited and starts chasing her around and she evades for a bit and then turns on him and they do the head ramming thing like two males would do! :confused: She is a bit bigger than him and WC while he is CB...could that...
