    Sexing Panther Chameleons

I know what you mean. It can be tricky when they are really tiny. But I think he said earlier that it was 4 in. snout to vent?? If thats the case that girl is definately large enough that she'd be showing some kind of bulge if she were a male. Just my humble opinion. By the way, I cant...

    Panther Hybrids

Just figured I'd update everyone a little bit on my hybrid thoughts..... Both my male supposed Ambilobe/St. Marie cross (Mizraim) and my female Ambilobe/Mafana cross (Jack) were in my thoughts alot when I started this thread. My conclusion to my origional problem is that my goal is to...

    Sexing Panther Chameleons

Based on the pics you've posted, my opinion is female. The way the tail tapers after the vent is, in my opinion, way to steep to be a male. I wish I had some pics of chams in that size range for you to compare to. Unfortunately I dont. However, hopefully I'll be having a few clutches start...

    Johnston's Geographical Locations

Thanks chris. Your never ending knowledge of what seems like all species of chameleons never ceses to amaze me. I was aware that they used to export out of uganda, but I thought that was a while back. Apparently its been as recently as a couple years ago. Again, thanks for the info.

    Dust Type?

My personal preferance is Miner-All I for indoor chams, and Miner-All O for outdoor. Thats the calcium and mineral supplement. And I use Herpnutrition's vitamin supplement that was developed by susan donaghue. They make a 2 lowland formulas and 2 montain formulas as well.

    Johnston's Geographical Locations

I forget who it was, but I saw a post in the photo contest forum tha suggested that Johnstons do not live as far south as Tanzania. Apon further resurch, I havn't been able to find anything that says they do actually live in Tanzania. I know they live in Uganda, Rwanda, Congo (zaire), and...

If you actually saw one exactly like that....chances are it was from Uganda...and very illegal. Although I think, but am not completely sure that uganda was open to importation a while back. Either way, this guy was living in a national park....I'm not sure what the laws on importation are, but...

    Sexing Panther Chameleons

If you could post a pic from the side giving us a good view of the vent area then it would go along way in helping us help you. From what your saying though, without any pics, my uneducated opinion would guess male. But again, I'd love to see pics if possible.

Are these safe for my Cham to eat?

I have those same beatles invade my house every year late in the summer. Last year I walked out and could barely walk to my car there were so many. I felt like I was stuck in that hitchcock movie "The Birds" or something except with lady bug type creatures. My house is almost 50 years old....and...

    Going Outside ...

Another thought to keep in mind. I learned this lesson the hard way with a veild. If your using a supplement with D3, which is sounds like you are, than you want to stop all vitamin D3 supplementation before taking your cham outside. Not all calcium supplementation, but definately all D3...

    Veggies ??

The only chams that I've gotten to eat veggies on a constant basis has been veilds. As far as panthers go. I've definately caught my panthers, mostly young panthers, chewing on some ficus leaves. But when I tried sticking leafy greens in there for a day, they seem to ignore them completely...
