If you are going to advice people to skip the "glass cage", give a reason for it. I personally used them for 15 years without as much as glitch. Did anyone actually see any evidence that a glass terrarium was the cause of any problems, or is it just something you repeat in forums?
The 26...

Any, YES the sofa looked horrible, but its gone now.
They are so cute when sleeping upside down.
Not as comfy as the sofa i guess.
I prefer citric acid, you buy it at the grocery store (often used to clen coffee machines).
It doesn have that "acetic acid smell" and is quite effective for calcium deposits.
Whether or not an animal CAN eat something is not really interesting. A chemistry teacher of mine got the question "Can you drink concentrated sulfuric acid?", and he gladly answered "Yes!"
Just because an animal CAN eat something does not mean its a good idea or even healthy. Contrary to...

What people need to start understanding is the small confinement we keep our herptiles in. Nowhere in nature will you find several individuals in the same sized area as our cages.
Yes, length-wise, they have the same potential in nature, that is for sure. Head size is pretty stable in snakes, so the captive ones get "pin-heads" compared to their body size.
Its always a shame when good sized adult animals get killed like this in nature, they are the ones that have the...
I got my first chameleon about 15 years ago. Back then it didnt really rain chameleons, so even if I had wanted to, I couldnt have gotten more of them in any hurry.
It was probably a few years until I got some more.
It is of course a perspective-effect, much like when you take a picture of a fish that you caught and put it closer to the camera.
One interesting aspect is the difference between wild snakes and captive ones. The result of over-feeding is quite obvious, you dont see snakes with that kind of...
They can be quite polymorphic, males can usually get a nice blue and bright color in the spring and there are quite a lot of melanistic populations up north. All black berus is nice. I just dont have any pictures of those :(
Vipers usually make great photo subjects as they tend to lie still...
It doesnt seem that serious to be selling eggs like this, I wouldnt put too much trust in a herper like that.
I cant see what that brown stuf is, but it looks like a well calcified egg otherwise. You can "candle" it with a flashlight to see whats inside.
Adding some pictures if it is allright.
Here is one of my old calyptratus females, she was a trooper.
A Dendrobates leucomelas, at a friends house.
A eyelash viper (Bothrops schlegeli) in Costa rica.
A horned viper (Cerastes cerastes) in captivity.
A mouse opossum...
Its different cameras I think, the grass snake was taken with an old pocket digital, completely useless in todays standards.
Then I think its canon 20D and 30D mostly. Dont know if the moled name is the same in the US, some models have their own names in the US.
I hate those times when you should have had a camera handy.
I try to think positive and one thing I can say is that it works the other way around too; There are MANY times I am quite pleased noone has a camera. There could be a lot more discriminating pictures of me out there than there...
