Thanks for your repy Mike :)
I did get the other two out, and they both had a little wiggle too :)
They are currently taking up space in mum's display case in the kitchen (safest spot) I thought she might kick up a stink because i moved some of her collectables around, but surprisingly she...
Thank you so much :D
Your reply really helped to put me at ease today. I was really worried as this will be by first attempt at hatching anything.
I did get the other two out, they gave a bit of a wiggle too. I havent checked them since, i dont want to fuss with them too much.
Mini my Pygmy Chameleon has dug up her eggs! And has started laying a new clutch in their place.
My sister in law and I were thinking that maybe she dug them out because she knew they were infertile?
I managed to reach two of the four. I was really careful not to tilt them any more then...
Not a happy camper
Mini has decided to turf the eggs out of the hole to lay a fresh clutch!!
Just came home and was doing the midday misting and what do i find? Mini with her rear in the hole and the first clutch of eggs laying on the surface!! I really dont want to disturb her until she has...
Why havent you persuaded him to come here for his chameleon needs? :p
We are more approchable to differing needs of chams in the UK ;)
Personally i would advise him to change the position of his dripper... having it drop on to a rock isnt all that good. That only gives the little guy one...
What great colours :D
Totally backs up my opinion on crossing breeding for those wanting a colourful animal as a pet. I would go for this guy purely because i have no intention to breed.
oops, wrong word, sorry ... i just heard it through the reading :)
As for the pics, i meant in the thread ;) so they were all in one place :)
Your guy looks great ;)
I've really enjoyed reading this.
Just wish there were a few pictures to show some crosses.
For breeders i totally understand the wanting to keep the bloodlines pure... but for the likes of myself looking for a pet i dont see the problem considering a hybrid.
As long as the animals...
Wow, sounds like you've got the 'bug'!! (shhh, dont tell anyone, but im currently talking to someone about a Panther ;) its such a good deal and is quite local. Just going to talk to the old man now. Maybe get him to sub me the £ hehe)
Back to my Pygies, glad to hear someone else has a fussy...
Thanks for the encouragement Mike :D
I have scanned the enclosure, no little ones today.
I'm not sure how to explain it other than it no longer looks as white/stained as the other three. It has a more blotchy look to it. It is still nice and plump, no dents and is still the same size as...
Eww, I cant imagine anyone wanting it surely? I mean the charateristic chameleon colours arent on that little girl anymore :( It really does just look old.
From a science point of view ... maybe, but not anyone that loves these little creatures as pets.
Ok, I dont think i need to get in any springtails :) The few adults i've been putting in over the last couple of months have bred! There are quite a few in there now, so i dont think i need to worry :)
There are also loads of baby woodlouse, so i'm guessing the pygyie didnt munch all the adults...
Tiff, you and me both ;) hehe
The woodlouse are from the bottom of my garden. We have a 'wildlife' area (well as much of one as you can in a London back garden) So the woodlouse come from under the rocks and logs. I just pick them up and shake them off in to a large bucket.
All the other...
Corr, i havent updated this in a month!! Not really had the need to, they havent hatched yet.
I have been sitting on my hands i can tell you! I've wanted to take a sneak peek at the eggs for about a week now but i have been good and left them alone. I just want to see if there have been any...
The stains are from the soil/medium :)
As stated before you will know if the eggs are bad in time. Dont fuss with them too much, you could hurt the babies inside if they are moved too much.
I had a clutch of pygmies hatch today and was wondering when to offer them food for the first time? i have fruit flies and pin heads. should i dust them for their first feeding? was it okay thet i moved them from the hatch container to their new home after they hatched or should i have left them...
