Ok... decided to 'meddle' with the eggs a little today... i couldnt just let them be anymore.
I didnt open any up.
Up until now all i've done is shine the little light over the tubs and look at the eggs that way. But today i took the lid off and did the same. They moved, all four! I got...
Oh :( I thought as much, which is why i am apprehensive.
Im past that excited stage of waiting for them to hatch and on to the worried stage of waiting for them to hatch. Its not a very nice feeling.
They have been kept at room temps between 65 through to 78. They have grown and not shown...
If you've been following my thread you'll know I have 8 Brev eggs cooking :D This is my first time hatching anything. 4 of the 8 are on day 109!
Surely this is a bit long?
I believe the eggs wiggle when i shine a light on them... but im starting to mistrust my eyes.
I have been...
I think they may be duds or have died along the way... i mean its 109 days now :(
I cant trust my eyes, i swear they wiggle when stimulated by the light.
Thats so cool, another batch of eggs for you :D
Nope, nothing yet... these little monsters will have me grey at 26!
I got the tub out yesterday and shone the torch on them and all 4 gave a wiggle. Will they be stimulated by the light?
I cant believe they arent here yet... ive even started...
They look like old burn wounds, and shed build up to me.
The halogen bulb sounds like bit of a worry... hope someone with more knowledge posts soon.
Hope you are able to make a vet appointment :D
Im not an expert at all but i dont think the liquid calcium being injected into the egg would help.
The calcium is absorbed from the mothers body and 'sticks' to the outside of the egg forming the hard shell (saw a documentary a while back)
TBH what you harvested (which you are very brave...
1) It shouldnt effect them i'd imagine. When they are laid in soil they are vertually on top or beside each other.
2) Brev eggs hatch perfectly fine in the enclosure, so keep the conditions similar. Warmer temps reduce the waiting time for them to hatch. Someone will be along with better...
