The darkness during the day does sound like stress, the lightness at night is completely normal! Its the easiest time to find mine :D
The retained shed could be causing the stress. How often are you misting her enclosure and what is the humidity reading?
That is very sad to hear :(
Im so sorry for your loss
Sound like you have a gentleman Pygmy there :) very sweet.
Marlow doesnt seem very interested in Mini, but he always moves when she moves so he can see her
I wouldnt worry about tweezer feeding, let the bugs loose. Mine love the chase, it really stimulates them into feeding.
The big hand with tweezers could be stressing them out
Peanut curls her tail when she realises i have suddenly appeared... to feed or spray her
I thought it was a protection sort of reflex to keep the tail safe, hehe
They are so cool :D
They are one of the few mantids that can be kept communially
I would love a few of these... in a range of colours they come in. Brown through to red through to green :)
They are a hairy little crawling little bug thing found in crickets, my tubs had loads in!! The do turn into beetles eventually.
I've put them in with my adult Brevs and have had no problems so far :) I thought they'd help the woodlouse and springtails with the clean up.
I dont see the...
Yeah, the ridges on their backs and the length of their tails suggests males Andy, sorry mate.
Have fun with them though, they are great little characters
:)
I had my first Cham dream last night... which is funny considering we've had Peanut well over a year now.
Alas Peanut didnt feature in the dream it was the pygies!
I dreamt I had a few too many and was worrying about feeding them all/making sure they all got enough.
It was really weird...
