Mine wants absolutely nothing to do with me unless i have food in my hand.
I dont think I've ever put so much time and money into something that hates me haha.
See if I can help you out here. Sounds like you're thinking way too much on this.
First of all I'm pretty sure no one uses LEDs for UV lighting. The standard here is the reptisun 5.0 linear tube (~$20 for 36"). Another brand which is emerging is arcadia. Same thing though a linear tube...
I'm sorry I meant what is the output of the HO?
The LEDs are very curious to me. I would hope to pick some up in the near future. Do they really help with plant growth that much more then a standard soft white CFL?
whats the wattage on the Arcadia D3+? Call me a tree hugger or what ever you want, but I prefer to go the most efficient way possible.
Reptisun 5.0 36" 30w
Incedesant 50w
3 CFLs 3 X 23w
Total of 149w! I could lower that by around ~50w if I use the LED bulbs too!
It...
Is the water going to be falling the full 6'. If it is I doubt a super quiet pump is really needed. The sound of the water will probably be louder.
Post some pics too!
dubia are the best! I keep them in a large 50 gal Tupperware type of container. They can’t climb the sides of it.
Put a couple large egg crates in it. cut a hole in the top covered by screen for ventilation. Lastly either use a heat pad or heat lamp.
They pretty much eat anything...
it would be a really neat feature to have some kind of light sensor. When the sun comes out the lights go on, when it goes down the lights turn off. This would take care of the seasons.
not sure why it turned the picture sideways.
Oh yea theres also a mistking with 2 nozzles. Just a tad of the ficus stays dry on top, otherwise everything gets nice and sprayed down.
I know those are oxymorons, but here it is. I was off all this week and built this "open enclosure" or what ever you want to call it.
It essentially a giant corner planter box. Theres a drain in the bottom, then layered with drainage rocks, soil, and finally rocks. There are 2 places where...
ehh seems to just be surgical tubing with holes in it, then metal running up the side to make it stiff, and finished off with some leaves.
Clever, yes, but eh.
I couldnt resist either, but that guy is as straight as those vines haha.
Sometime I'm going to make a large free range similar to what you're talking about. I was going to go with 2 ft of soil, then some very fine mesh wire, then another foot of sand.
I shouldn't have to worry about a laying bin again! Also the mesh would prevent the chameleon from digging too...
