Plates on each side of the screen to hold it sounds like it would work. You might wan to add some silicone in between them for some extra strength.

I probably wouldnt for the sake of keeping pure the subspecies just cause they are some of the rarer ones. That being said once wouldn't hurt just to see what would happen.

I agree with the above statements. 10-20 crickets a day sounds like alot. My jacksons eat about six a day and will go for a few days every now and then on only a couple. I would definately wait to see if any other problems developed before before i would be worried
