Thanks everyone.
jannb - we may actually be considering turning an extra bedroom into a part time free range room for him. Gotta consider everything before we start, but definitely a possibility.
Thanks. He looks awesome to me. Lisa and I are thrilled that he is showing such nice colors at such a young age. Can't wait to see him when he is all grown up. Thanks Jann! He is awesome!
Thanks. His color looks better and better all the time. He is such a little beggar too...every time you open the enclosure door...he wants out. He loves it...and usually doesn't want to go back in.
We have stained and sealed Stanley's house, and installed a few pieces of driftwood for him. We have the screen door finished...just need to put the hinges on. We also have the canopy done except for staining and installing it's door. We should be able to finish next week. He is definitely ready...
Try getting them to eat alternative insects. We started Stanley on crickets, but also bought a colony of roaches to breed and feed. He also gets various worms. Varying their diet is a good thing in my opinion even when crickets are readily available. That way when something like a cricket virus...
I think I will enter one of these in the July contest. Here are a few I took today at breakfast.
First, you take aim...and get your tongue ready.
Next, you fire your tongue out of your mouth.
Last, you enjoy a tastee cricket.
They are Dubia sp. He eats the 1/2" size. We have a couple of hundred in a tub out in the garage. They are supposed to be a breeding colony, but I haven't seen much breeding going on.
