just a little strange they'd give her medicine if the problem was just that something was stuck in her eye thats all :) ive had some bad experiences recently with a vet medicating my cham unnecessarily :( its not fun, and they often react not so good to medicine. hopefully your cham gets over...
here's a pic of jacks bulging eyes................??? any idea why this is happening? once was right before he was going to sleep, and the other was this afternoon, just while he was chilling on his branch...........sorry the one is blurry, but you can still tell how bulgy they are..........
awe thanks for searching for us :) i appreciate all the help and thoughts :)
i will keep it more updated, its just there hasnt been a lot of change........
his latest symptom is that for two days in a row now, ive seen him with bulging eyes........like really bulging......he looked so...
i live in canada too, and a glass enclosure is not ok. you just have to make sure you are misting enough to keep the humidity up! not enough air in the glass containers for them, your lights will make it super hot in there, plus glass filters out any vitamins they get from the UV....where in...
i know right? i hope he pulls through as well, its hard seeing him like this everyday, he used to be such a wanderer........alberta is a province in canada. Edmonton is the city.
was she lethargic before the medicine? did the vet tell you how much coccidia she had in her body? some coccidia can live in the intestines and not affect the cham........some it does. she's probably stressed from the medicine, some meds can affect their appetite....was she healthy/acting...
he has actually shown no improvement at all.........nor has he gotten worse? it is so strange.......he ate two crickets on his own the other day, but im not feeding him very much these days. he still falls A LOT during the day, and has almost no grip in his feet.............its hard because i...
i am not going to force feed him for a while at least.......the only thing he has eaten on his own so far is horned worms, but i am going to stop those as well. if he doesnt eat in more than a week or so, i'll start feeding crickets again. i just want to see what happens.......
jack started to...
my current veiled used to shoot at my eyes when he was younger, and so did the veiled before that. we always thought it was the pupil of our eyes, looks kinda like a bug movin around! hahah :)
ugh, im so sorry to hear this...............i know how it feels when you feel like you're trying everything, and its not working. you did all you could.......sorry again :(
this , actually makes sense to me. i was skeptical at first, but now, after jack being off albon for 3 days, he seems to be making way more of an effort to move around. he is falling more as a result, but its not stopping him. i am taking this as a sign of improvement. we are going to keep...
that is the plan, none are open this weekend though as it is easter......its so hard to try and make the right choice. i think though, we are going to stop the albon, this week, and let him have a bit of time to get the meds out of his system. then if there is no improvement, take him to a new...
awe thank you so much for your kind words. people on here have been great, really, and its amazing how many people have been following my posts.
unfortunately no, jack is not doing better. he will eat horned worms on his own accord, but that is all. and it is only once a week thus far. i...
jack isnt consistantly eating 10 crix a day, like i said, it varies.......there was a period there when i would put 10 crix in the cup, and they'd all just die, because he wouldnt eat them. that would last for a week at a time, and then he'd pick at them and eat one or two a day when he got over...
the first medicine he was on was called cephalexin ( 5 doses, no luck)
the second was baytril ( 4 doses, no luck)
albon (7 doses, 6 more to go, so far no luck)
5 crickets a week???? im sorry, but i have had chams before, and i have never fed them only 5 crickets a week..........thats keeping them a little more than just "hungry" in my opinion.......the last veiled i had lived to be 6, and he ate at least 5 crix a day.........
