I hear of some people having problems with chameleons hurting toes on the aluminum cages. I think this may stem from the lack of climbing materials in the cage. I have tons of vines that go to the very top of my cage. I rarely see my chameleon crawl on the screen except for a foot for balance...
Yep when I throw the crickets in they almost start climbing to the top right away. Some of the dumber crickets stay torward the bottom and starve. That's ok tho I don't want my chameleon eating unfit crickets that are to stupid to crawl to their own death. :)
I will be submitting hopefully this month. I just joined the forum last month and didn't have time to submit an entry because I was in middle of a move. If my guy wasn't so prone to biting my finger off I would be more inclined to take some photos of him.
I am most certianly going to do some HDRs of skittles once he grows up a little more and shows more color. HDR isn't to hard it's just easy to over process it and end up with an image that looks cliche.
Here is one I have done in the past.
One thing my guy does consistantly is he gets these black stipes on his hood when he is sleeping along with his eye sockets. He looks kind of gothic when he sleeps. He also goes to sleep like clock work at 7:30 every night for the past several weeks.
I see all these fantastic shots of veilds that are glowing yellow. My little guy shows some yellow and lime green but usually it's pretty light in color. Skittles is 5 months old. At what age do they really start to show their colors off? Does it generally happen during a certain season when the...
Ok cool just making sure. It should be just fine for your plants. Lots of people have no problem using the UV 5.0 bulb with plants which would be equivalent to the 10.0 given your cage.
The cage does have two nozzles :)
As for drainage I orginally was misting for 1 min and the water build up was very minimal. I just changed the times up to 3 min for each misting and I get a little bit of build up but nothing bad. I'll be working on some type of drainage this week.

I wake up at 7 in the morning so I like to have all my reptile lights come on at this time to make sure everything is functioning before I got to work. I just let them run for 12 hours but I change it to 10 hours when the winter hits.
The Ficus plant was shipped to me from lllreptile and looked like this when I got it. Is there a way to fix it? Should I try adding some supports in? I may just run out to lowes and purchase a new one since it was only 10.00.

I would get rid of the sand all together you shouldn't need a substrate for a chameleon. You will need to provide a smaller box in the cage with some soil that she can lay her eggs in but I would take that box out as soon as she lays the eggs.
