I've also used reptilefood numerous times and if there are any issues they are super about replacement. Guess i got the last adults from ghanns huh. Think i'll start breeding them myself.
I've started keeping roaches in the last few months and i have a couple of questions.
1. What do most of you use for a substrate? I've currently got 2 colonies and i use paper towels in one and mulch in the other. They love the mulch, and i use that in the one i usually don't feed out of...
I've had roaches forever and have even "learned" to apprecite them, but i still use really big tweezers. I'm still not toucing those guys. lol.
And they don't smell half as bad as crickets do. I hate crickets. If they get loose, out of the cup or whatever, even I can catch them. lol. Dubias...
I was having a discussion with someone over the weekend as to how far a male cham will travel. As i told him, it depends on a lot of variables but that i was really unfamiliar with how big a male chams territory is in the wild. I dont' remember seeing anything ever really written on the subject...
OMG, I think i'm guilty of at least 5 or 6 of the noted offenses. And i agree, WE are not crazy. Just everybody else.
I had to start a new f/b page just for Jungle Jewels, cause my family and so-called friends,(non-chameloen owners) were tired of hearing me talk only about my chams. Told me to...
Your vet didn't inject them? Did he check her out first?
Remember to close off her area to give her some privacy and DON'T look. No matter how bad you want to. Unless you're really good and can do it without her seeing you.
Are they from the same clutch? I'm assuming they aren't, so i would not. Once they start hatching, you'd never be able to tell which ones are which. lol.
Fianlly got my Jacksons, and already have a couple of them gravid. Done all the research that i could find on them, but 1 thing i'm not sure on. When they are almost ready or ready to give birth; do they give you the same signs as other chams? Being restless, i'm assuming is a given, as is lack...
Ok i vote you go for it too. lol. Once you've had a melleris, you will be forever spoiled. They are fabulous creatures. We're going to be embarking on a free ranging room for them soon as well. Can't wait. Hoping to get some more melleris in within the week. 3-4 we'll keep for our breeding project.
I have to admit when i first started with chams i made some of the same mistakes others have made. My biggest mistakes were:using those darned coiled bulbs and feeding my females too much. As a result i did have chams suffer some consequences. Thank God, I eventually found the Chameleon Forum...
Hi Julirs,
You know when i first got Cobalt, i was actually told he was a totally new morph. He was almost completely black, and i mean black, when i purchased him from a vendor. He was w/c so there was no way to tell. So i came on here and also did a "i need an identification" thread...
Wow. First, congrats to you for trying and to alot of other forum members for some great advice. And Carlton, chams are cool, so if you need to use the "cool" thing, and it works, great. We all own chams because we think they're cool, as long as they are healthy, they're cool. Not so much when...
When you're dealing with a newly caught animal, i would feed him as much as he will eat for a few weeks. Especially if he is on skinny side. He's been through alot and will need to build his strength and fat reserves back up. Once he is fully acclimated, you can then cut back on his food intake...
Well good for you for at least bringing it to their attention. As reptile enthusiast all we can do is try to educate those who want to learn; but you can't teach someone who already knows everything!!! Keep up the good work and i would absolutely go in again and ask to speak to the manager. I've...
I take that back. It does show on my pic. It just looks more white than yellow. Probably because of the flash. I'm certainly not a photographer. On the outer corners of his mouth, where it looks white, is actually yellow. Very noticeable on a nosy.
lol. If you just got him, he's probably just scared. Or maybe he's just a @#$@%&. My w/c nosy be, the pic i showed you, was extremely mean. Just didn't like being captive i guess. Don't blame him, i'd be p.......d too.
Nosy bes have yellow on the outside of the lips. I can't believe it didn't...
