im sorry to hear about your cham. i hope he recovers!
ive kept a veiled that had a similar problem. i dont know if panthers require more D3 than veileds, but it seems like calcium with d3 once a week is too much. an overdose on D3 can be toxic and i think thats how my chameleon died of kidney...
update
i took her to the vet today. he didnt seem that an xray was necessary and her limping could be from a sprain and was sore since shes not putting much weight on it. he gave me some metacam to give her for a few days and i'll look out for any improvement. thankfully thalamus gave me a...
ill have to take her to the vet. i just took her out to see her walk on flat ground and she is limping pretty badly on the same arm. she can move it and hold a grip but it looks as if she cant place any weight on it. ill have to get xrays too. the crazy thing is, other than the limping and black...
is black feces a sign for anything bad? my cham's urates are white and runny since i feed her silkies but ive never noticed her food turning her poops black before. she has had history with eating sand but i havent noticed any sand eating for at least a week. im worried that its a sign of blood...
i gave her a shower mostly because i noticed a bit of orange in her urate today after a few days of not pooping. i do keep a dripper on for most of the day as well as regular misting but thought a shower would stimulate her to drink more. plus it would be nice to have "rewards" to have her...
in this post https://www.chameleonforums.com/thalamus-hates-me-32824/ i was discussing how i'm trying to get my female veiled accustomed to cham-showers so she can benefit from them but she gets nervous around me and starts freaking out. so today i tried again and peeked through the crack in the...
I have no idea, but i hope they are around! Im pretty sure i saw a thread last week with baby pics. so its good that people are still breeding dilepis :)
oooh, building on Syn's idea: cut the bottom of the tupperware off completely, then turn the tupperware upside down so all the frass falls on the lid and it can be easily opened up and taken out. with the dowels in the way, it might be hard to get a good scrub without knocking them off! (or you...
aww tommy is such a handsome boy! i wonder why he doesnt like his new stick...
my male veiled hated his water bottle dripper and he would puff up and hiss at it everytime he saw it. but it was a bright turquoise so maybe thats what upset him :p tommy is silly.
cute little guys! their patterns are amazing for just having hatched.
my first cham was a dilepis and im a huge fan. i was a little disappointed with the lack of dilepis keepers when i joined. its nice to see people here are keeping and breeding them! (more chams for me to keep in the future!) :P
she only displays these colors when shes out of her cage. shes around 8 months old. i dont plan on breeding her, im actually trying to not have her lay infertile eggs as i heard can be possible.
thalamus is usually just one plain color of green and never seems to get any stripes or spots. but heres some pics that ive managed to catch of her showing some new patterns and colors while she was patient enough for the camera!
she was a little pissy in this one, and she gets black...
