Very nice looking.
Is this only an outside enclosure? or do you keep your him outside year round? Just curious as to how your handling drainage.
I'm interested in picking up a pair of rudis chams for my next endeavour. Do you like yours? Any particulars I should know about them other then...
Dust the freeder prior to actually feeding them to your cham. The key word here is "dust"; put the feeder in a ziplock with a pinch of dust and give it a few shakes. Dust, don't coat.
No, do not mix the dusts.
Their is some debate as to exactly how often to use D3 and multi's (or the use...
Thicker branches and better tieing of the paperclips should take care of the "twisting" problem. As for tieing branches to branches, I found these strips, which are kind of like twist ties, but they have no metal in them. I wish I knew where I got them.
Anyway, you wrap them around branch...
Woot! i got ya covered on this one man. I spent hours setting up branches in this exact same enclosure. I have several large branches through out this enclosure, and if it wasn't for all the experiementing and re-arranging I did, there would be no damage to the enclosure at all.
This is best...
As the other members have stated, superworms are excellent; easy to feed and easy to keep.
My guy has even rejected crickets almost entirely in favour of superworms.
Perhaps people have miss understood what I meant when I said that I have had success in "socializing" my chameleon.
The only time I have ever or will ever pick up my chameleon is for cage cleanings, sun bathings, or showers.
Now that said, my chameleon does not get upset when run through...
Six months is still quite young and two lotus doesn't seem like nearly enough.
I could be wrong on this but I believe a good rule of thumb is feed them as much as they will eat.
Two lotus a day sounds like the diet of a two year old cham.
But hey what do I know, my cham's appetite is a...
Your the one who knows your cham the best. If your going to try to socialize your cham make sure that not stressing them out is your higher priority.
There are several ways to make your cham more social. Hand feeding is definatly a big one. Do you take yours out for cage cleanings or sun...
crickets are no big deal for me. Disposable containers, easy capturing methods, and finding ways to drastically lower death rates has taken them from a dread to almost nothing.
Now my least favorite things:
1. Constantly worrying about his health
2. Hunger strikes, my guy finicky and has...
Thanks for pointing this out Electric, I completely missed it.
This seems really late to me. I would take Electric's advice and have your lighting schedule match the natural sunlight as much as possible.
It is my understanding that reptiles are very sensitive to light so I believe that having a night lamp is a bad thing. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Does your calcium have D3? Are you using any other supplementing? What time does he usually go to bed?
Can you give a better description of the enclosure? what is it made of and what are its dimensions?
The night light you are using, is it to keep temps up?
More details on your supplementing please.
Perhaps I am confused on what you are refering to but they are not the same shape.
Compact flurescents are a big no-no. http://blog.makezine.com/544px-Compact-Flourescent-Bulb.jpg
But I can't find anything wrong with mercury bulbs...
Don't worry about it, I would be frantic as well.
I am familiar with the slimline products, what percent UVB is it?
What wattage is your mercury bulb?
What type of calcium are you dusting with? Does have D3? Are you using any multivitamins? You said your dusting 2-4 times a month and...
