humidity
Covering his cage with plastic on two sides would surely help, as well as live plants. You might consider getting a cool mist humidifier and placing it close to his cage. You must live in a pretty dry place. I don't have to worry about that to much in Rockport tx just my ac going...
Isopods
What kind of Isopods would you add to the enclosure. I am going to try and accomplish the same type of flooring in my enclosure. I would also like to plant a couple of flowering plants as well. I have a few months to get it established before I order a new cham.
I was curious if anyone was using metal halide bulbs, or high pressure sodium lights in their large enclosures. I have 8x8x4 enclosure with natural light, and two 48" repti sun 5.0 bulbs. I also have two mercury vapor bulbs at 75 watts each. I do not use both vapor bulbs all the time. I...
dna
Congratulations on your new chams. I have never studied the effects of cross breeding sibling chameleons or people for that matter. I do know that there is a chance of genetic defects in the offspring. I am pretty sure that the closer the relation between the two the higher the...
zero's house
I have had zero in a enclosure just like you are talking about for two years now. I have four plants planted in his cage with two basking lights and two 48 inch repti sun 5.0 fluorescent bulbs. He is misted by a mistking system four times a day. His plants get enough water from...
good luck
Most people will tell you that chameleons don't do well in glass cages. I think that it can be done with the proper ventilation and lighting. You would also need to pick the right species. Smaller chameleons that prefer high humidity and less direct light and heat would probably be...
milk jug
Sorry didn't notice the milk jug that was cut and attached to the corner of the cage. I would be concerned that you little guys tongue could catch the edge which could be a little sharp. If you are using artificial plants I would consider switching. Real plants will help with...
question
Are you cup feeding or free range feeding. You might try and acquire some house flies from a supplier. I raised my first veiled on a diet of mostly flies. He loved them and never got tired of them. I would also try and get the humidity up some. Hydration is very important. Good luck.
zero's house
Wow it took me awhile to figure out how to put pics up but I got it. A friend my wife and I built this cage at the end of the cat walk that was there just to get to the circular window the builder of the house put in. The frame work was already there we just covered...
zeros cage
I need to get some pictures up to show you. It is not your typical cage and I still need to make some adjustments. I planted my plants in the cage and my lights are inside. I dont free range feed so i dont worry to much about him picking up some substrate. We just got our...
My experience
I have a male ambilobe panther in a enclosure that is about 8W x 8H x 5D. He and his plants have been established for two years now. I use two 48" 5.0 reptisun tubes and two one hundred watt power sun mercury vapor bulbs. I have the cage built into my house where there is a...

I have a male ambilobe. He is probably two and a half. My plants are planted in the substrate. My mister is running about twenty five minutes a day which seems a little two much. The cage is hexagonal. It is about eight feet long eight foot tall and four...
