I recently posed query to a reptile dealer claiming to have Giant monkey tailed Fischers.
They listed the scientific name as Bradypodion fischeri fischeri, a classification i believed to be outdated.

have you been told by the airline reps where to find the official policy on this?
could be wrong but it sounds like you are giving up too easy.
ask a rep where to find the official policy on this, and if its not online, ask for it to be emailed, or faxed.

a bit of research is an under statement. what info were you told by the person you are planning to purchase them from?
keeping them is one thing
mating them and getting the female to survive is another
actually breeding them is a completely different thing all together
