this seems like a good idea. could say and air pump with an air stone be used in place of the filter? I have a fish tank heater for 5 gallons it is currently heating Kratos' dripper
I had this crazy Idea the other day for a cage that would self humidify itself (steam counts as humidity right?)
anyways
it would go something like this.
Your normal cage ontop then underneath instead of a flooring that will be another screen with an area for your plant to set on.
underneath...
Sweet how much would one of those run, around 100$?
anyways and update. Kratos seems to be getting better. I think it was a combination of not enough calcium (added dillweed to the gutload list) and the humidity but more calcium related than humidity, he has been crawling around his cage all...
ok @pssh I have a dripper set up for him already I am going to try to get a humidifier today
@panthercham Alrighty will do. so should I just dump out the extra water in the misting bottle if it is cold?
I have them in a big plastic containr for storing junk in but it is their cricket housing about 2 1/2L by 1/12W feet
so it is a pretty big house for them I normalyl get around 150 crickets at a time.
ok thanks for all the advice and help.
his basking spot isn't really set up too well I need to put it in a better positioncause he doesn't like to sit under it
also is it a good or bad thing when my feeder crickets are kind of mushy?
how can I tell what screen is what? I already know of some framed screen to use taht is already made I just need to put it together and get permission to use it
ah I see.
now I have a question about the cage. I know I need a bigger one but would it be possible to take some screens (for windows) wash them out and build a bigger cage. I think that would be cheaper than buying an 80$ one at LLLreptiles
and would a normal humidifier work for in his...
done no more tomatoes thank you for letting me know. none of the crickets even went close to it or ate any of it (thank goodness)
okay well some dill weed is better than none right? I'll add some into the feeding
I am talking about that and there is like a powder mixture for gutloading them with also. like oatmeal and wheat and stuff like that.
are you talking about this? http://www.reptilesupply.com/product.php?products_id=1754 I use that it has calcium in it but probably not as much as I need
okay...
well I thank you for your advice. I just needed a slap in the face thats all.
I have seem a gutload mixture at the pet store it is for crickets(do you recommend this?) I remember using it for my older bro when I cared for his Cham before I got my own.
I added in some cherry tomatoes and an...
Your right I've gotten myself into this mess now I need to get it out.
Right now I am 60% sure it was the humidity because I have been giving him humid showers where I let him sit on the shower curtain railing with towels covering it and his eye has gotten better. More so than the picture.
I had...
