    Lack of chameleon knowledge

Most people on here already have them when they join... I see your point, but it's not really practical. They're not going to return the chameleon to the store once they realize the research they need to do, then buy another one. This would be more suitable posted in pet stores before the actual...

    Texas Roundup

That's horrible. Controlling the population I understand. Not making a show of the killing.

    Kinda sad...

It seems like the only time I ever see my cham anymore is when I wake up and look at his cage without moving and see him basking. As soon as I start moving he does his leaf walk into his big fake "tree" and stays there. Sometimes all day. If I leave and come back, sometimes I will catch him...

I am new here and eager to learn! Here are some pis of my new baby Veiled Chams!

Many say that the compact uvb lights can cause eye problems for some chameleons. The Reptisun 5.0 tube has not had any complaints from any aspect, so I've heard. It also looks like you have sand in the bottom, but it could just be the lighting and shadows messing me up... if it is, get it out...

    easy direction for raising Dubia

If you put calcium with D3 in the gutload, do you still dust with D3 twice a month? Do you leave the oranges unpeeled? And do you use this recipe for other feeders as well? Thanks

    WOOHOOO i'm so happy!!!

That is a good idea. I read in another post a while back that someone had ants get into the enclosure and if there had not been leftover feeders to eat they would have gone for the cham. Same idea, different scenario. Maybe leave a piece of carrot or something.

    lets all say a prayer

My best friend (aka boyfriend's sister) is there! She's a Marine stationed in Iwakuni. I didn't even know what happened till after I saw she posted on FB that she was ok, I don't really watch TV. She said it didn't hit where she's at.

    Music = Life.

I have a lot lol. Fav. is rock/metal. Alternative, some hip hop/top charts/pop, even some country and spanish. I can find something I like in almost any genre. I'm starting to get into some reggae and swing. I've always wanted to learn to swing dance. Anyone have any swing bands I can look into?

i need a pat on the back!!!!

They are actually who I got my guy from. I walked in, said I wanted somethin to go in an old cage, and I got him at almost 2.5 months old. Told me I didn't need lights right away, he'd be ok for a few weeks till I got to it, only feed 3 small crickets a day, nothing about gutloading or...

need help choosing a chameleon at an expo

It is exciting to watch them grow, develop colors, introduce new bugs, etc. Like having a kid, only a million times faster and you don't have to pick him up if he cries  I had only owned a ball python before (years ago, dont even remember what happened to it) and then a baby sulcata...

    Lighting question

Unless your temps drop below mid 50's at night, you probably want to try and return it. During the day, use a regular house bulb. And what brand is your uvb bulb, and compact or tube style?

    Heya!

Hi and welcome :) First, be aware that handling your cham can either be cool or make him hate you. I used to handle mine like once a day for a minute or two and one day out of nowhere he decided he was done with me and treats me as if I'm going to steal his soul. If yours is cool with it, cool...

Look What I Got For Only 4 Dollars!

When I found my hanging planters I wasn't even looking for cham stuff. I'll have to go back and see what else I can use, it would be awesome if they had organic soil. I have to grow my sulcata tortoise's food and also use the soil for his outside cage substrate so that would help!
