    Pothos has mealy bugs

Yeah, I use 3/4"-1" river rocks over the soil. I have peroxide and white vinegar, is it safe for the chameleon once it's dry or would I then need to wash with water after?

    Pothos has mealy bugs

I just picked up another pothos at a different HD. It looks clean, but I plan on removing the dirt, rinsing the roots & re-potting in eco-earth. I'm going to leave this one in a different room to monitor for a week or two before making the switch. Unfortunately, the vines aren't as long as my...

    Pothos has mealy bugs

Alright, I had him out for a while, don't think it was too stressful for him. So, my new plan is to find/buy another one. I plan to leave it in another room for a week to make sure it's clean. New plant: Should I a) remove all the soil, rinse the bare roots and add new soil (thinking...

    Pothos has mealy bugs

I only have the one plant. I got a larger one with long vines, I ran them around a lot of the branches. I was hoping not to stress my chameleon out, I've had him since 11/11 and he still tilts on the branch when I walk near the cage. I've gotten him on my fingers twice (never leaving the...

    Pothos has mealy bugs

I setup my enclosure about a month before I got my veiled chameleon. Everything seemed to look like it was going great. It's been setup about 3 months now and the other day I noticed on the dead leaves, there was a little white fuzzy stuff. Not a lot, but some down the stem, mostly at the...

New Baby Veiled & UVB Basking

Thanks, that's what I was hoping. I'll have to see what plants are available and how I'd go about adding it. I was hoping the pothos would grow into the rest of the cage.

    where to buy my cham!

I just got Milo (baby male veiled, sire is Driskel) last week from FLChams and couldn't be happier. He was boxed up Monday night and at my door Tuesday morning at 9:30am. He was eating that same day.

New Baby Veiled & UVB Basking

First, here are some photos of my baby Male Veiled (Milo): He arrived on Tuesday (11/11) from FLchams and is a Driskel baby. Mike sent me a larger baby, since I only had an adult cage. He is around 5-1/2" nose to end of tail. Does this sound like a 2 month old or is he possibly older...

    Crickets for New Veiled

I wound up ordering them from an ebayer, he was in the next state (PA). Ordered on Tuesday and got them Thursday, all appear to have survived the shipping. Now it's time to gut load them for the new arrival next week.

    Crickets for New Veiled

Yes, I've got that site bookmarked. But it doesn't appear they sell crickets. I'll probably use them for some suppliments.

Then it sounds like 500 might be the better way to go. I'd much rather have more then less.

    Crickets for New Veiled

I'm about a week away from getting my 2 month old Veiled. I would like to make sure I have food when he arrives. I was planing on ordering 1/4" crickets online. Any idea how quickly will the crickets grow? I can order 250 or 500 1/4" crickets for about the same price. 250 would be the...

    Good places to buy Veiled

FLChams is one of places I was looking at. They seem to have reasonable prices and according to you guys are a good place to order from. So far, their the place I'm leaning towards. Waiting for them to email me back.

    Good places to buy Veiled

I have decided to change from a panther to a veiled. I've got my cage just about done. Now I need to find a breeder. It appears that most of the sponsors sell Panthers, but don't list Veiled. I thought I read that it was best to start with a 3 month old, but notice that the few Veiled...

    New Enclosure Questions

You say he has a heat lamp and a regular lamp, is the regular lamp UVB? If not, you'll need to get a UVB bulb, it is required for chameleons. Are you misting him? The only issues I've read about with carpet flooring is keeping them clean. Do you monitor your humidity? As mentioned, try...

    Uvb 10 or 5?

I was under the impression that CFL don't produce the heat needed for basking. And yes, just 1 UVB bulb is all that's needed. The other bulb or bulbs is just for visual light or growing plants.

    Basking Setup Questions

Our house is anywhere between 68 - 74 when the heat or ac is on. I plan on getting a dimmer chord & will have the ability to raise it if needed. Just curious for a general wattage, so I don't go too small or large.
