Cool, thanks for the tips and opinions.
I don't have a garden in my North London flat but I do have deep window sills and massive windows so I may buy a large schefflera and sit it there for sunbathing in. Can get the windows open nice and wide for direct sunlight.
Other than that and...
Hello!
As some of you will know by now, I have my first cham maturing at a reputable UK breeder and will pick him up in a few weeks. He's a blue-barred ambilobe and will be about 12 weeks when i collect him.
I've read about chams that are grumpy and some that are friendly but little about...
They do it to mimic branches on the trees blowing in the wind. It's another form of camouflage. If you watch The Chameleons of Madagascar DVD which is for sale on the forums, you'll see that it's actually very accurate too =)
Thanks for the replies. =)
Bamboo sounds interesting, I don't think I've read about using it before.
I have another 6ft of artificial vines too. Will experiment with some on the sides of the enclosure.
Hello,
So I've been gathering bits for my enclosure for a while now. I pick up my baby Ambilobe in about 5 weeks time or so. It'll be about 12 weeks old by then.
The enclosure is 18x18x36 and all aluminium. I still need to get a 60W basking bulb to add to my clamp lamp. The strip light is...
Nice one! Yeah it's so exciting, but the waiting sucks! =)
I've been gathering bits for my enclosure over the past few weeks and plan on setting it all up this weekend. I'm sure we can both share our work and get some tips from others on the forums too =))
Hello,
I ordered the Chameleons of Madagascar DVD on 15th of July. The tracking status on USPS has been on 'Electronic Shipping Info Received' for 11 days now with no sign of a dispatch.
I sent the store a post through the 'contact us' part of bookstore a couple of days ago, but no reply...
Cool, thanks for the info.
Is it normal for them spend a lot of time either burrowed into the oat bedding or trying to get out of their container? When I go to change the veg there is clearly eating marks on it but they seem to spend more time trying to get out than eating, often flat out...
I made the oats slightly moist after reading that they eat eachother if there isn't enough moisture. One of the reasons I posted was realising that mold would be an issue.
Ill pick up some cheap veggies for them on the way home tomorrow. Do you guys just chop them up and leave them on top for...
Thanks Tiff,
I guess the Superworms must be happy if you keep them the same and they last for ages. Do you water them at all?
Also, do you get many deaths keeping cricks and locusts in the tubs they come in?
Hello,
So, I've got the whole cricket thing down to a T. Locusts and Superworms I'm still not 100% on.
I'm trying keeping locusts in a Kricket Keeper as they have been so awesome at keeping the cricks alive and happy, but the little tykes are too lively, can climb up the sides and dont use...
