I pretty much have 2 UVB bulbs- a 10.0 faced downward and a 5.0 clipped to the side facing the plant. I suck at keeping plants. Oh well, I'll try a little snippet out of everyone's reccomendations and hopefully work out a way to keep them alive. I don't think I'm ever going to buy a Ficus again...
Every 6 months, in intervals, I rotate my dead plants outside to hopeully revive them, and purchase 2 new plants to place in my Panther's and Veiled's enclosure. I'm currently working with a dead/dying Ficus and Umbrella that have about 7 leaves on the entire plant and hate throwing away a plant...
Hey Jeremy- Welcome! :D
Research is the key to properly maintaining a healthy chameleon, so if you're truly interested, I recommend you study up. You sound to be in the proper environment with adequate knowledge and a plan to care for the chameleon, so you're on the right track.

Frequent handling may stress them, but if you keep it to a minimal they should be fine. Don't grab them, or force them off the branch- rather allow them to climb onto or gently coax them onto your hand and that should relieve some stress.
Very sorry for your loss. If anyone on this forum could even begin to determine the cause of her death, you'd need to describe the symptoms she displayed before/after death.
Bruises, lumps in her abdomen- there are so many variables that could have lead to this...there are still so many...

"SQUIRT" I swear hornworms pop when the chameleon bites down on them. I have to stand 3 feet away. Nice pics, Willy...that chameleon is shedding in like every pic I've seen of him.
Yes, I left them in the boxes while I slept, but I did make sure the paper towels were moist enough to keep the humidity up.
I wouldn't even contemplate shipping him before or after you arrive- so many different variables to be dealt with, it's stressful on the chameleon, and a number of...
In my personal experience (I was taking 1.0 Veiled and 1.0 Panther), I placed them in cardboard-boxes lined with damp paper towel and plenty of ventilation holes so fresh air could circulate. I placed one branch tightly secured to both sides of the box so the chameleon had something to cling to...
Oh ho ho, let me tell you- they have teeth, oh boy they do, and they sure can pack a wallop of a bite. I've only been bit twice by my adult Male Veiled, but it broke the skin both times, and I had to literally 'pry' him of my arm becuase he had the death hold on me.
I'm a girl, so I may...
