Very nice! One of, if not the best monitor species to keep in captivity, imo.

I have used both of those exo terra products, mixed with some normal soil/leaf mould i collect from a local forest. They are both ok, but now i just use the soil/leaf litter i collect from the forest, as it's free & works better as a bio active substrate. Also comes with free clean up crew...

Too much taboo regards substrate, not only for chams but other reps too imo. Impaction is usually the result of poor husbandry as much as the substrate itself. Although some substrates i wouldn't use for any reps, ie beech chips & orchid bark, certain sands etc (though my dart frogs...

Females can show stripy patterning & colouring just like males. Especially when on cork bark, cork bark background. They also can look especially skinny one minute, then nice & plump the next.

I honestly don't know why they look so skinny? Maybe its all to do with camouflage? Makes them look more like a twig being all skinny like. Seems to only be when they are in hunting mode, that they go all thin looking.
