Hi guys I just wanted to share some pictures of my Native species of chameleon. It can be found in many wooded areas and garigue environments here in Malta. They seem to feed a lot on local cicadas. Whenever you find cicadas there are usually a few chameleons nearby.
These pictures where...
Wouldn't the filter keep the bacteria levels down? I've kept sensitive fish before like Angel fish and Discus. If there are such dangerous levels of bacteria wouldn't this affect sensitive fish as well? You would just have to do weekly water changes.
Netting could always be placed on top of...
Second that. If the enclosure is a big boy enclosure than those lights could work and would only serve to help the real plants photosynthesize and grow better. However they give off no UVB and little heat.
My male goes and finds somewhere to sleep as soon as the sun goes down, even if the bulb is still on for another 30minutes :D just emphasizing how connected they are to a natural light cycle schedule
So I was looking up on C. parsonii and I came upon this video on youtube video

It seems fairly simple. A small bowl with a low wattage pump. I was thinking that maybe adding an aquarium filter and pointing the spray bar up would help to keep the...
It sounds like the chameleon was just chilled and just needed some time to "wake up". However leaving crickets inside the enclosure over night is playing with fire. They could nibble on your chameleon's feet and tail and cause unnecessary stress. I would suggest taking them or the majority at...
I think so too but that's what the pet shop owner told my friend (long story short; Friend went to Italy. I planned with him to find me a chameleon (too expensive in this country). Found me a breeding pair. Brang them down from Italy to Malta)
I am surprised you never heard of Arcadia. It's a...
So far I am not using any medication cause the vet has not giving me any details. He just said what she had and told me to pick up the medication once he's in the office. I am opting for panozurial and nothing else cause I already read that some medication can be too harsh. Unfortunately the vet...
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon (F) 1week in my care
Handling - Every day. It's a must due to medication administration
Feeding - I try to feed mealworms, crickets, locusts and dubia roaches but she does not take any. So I use bug juice.
This is the recipe I used for BugJuice...
Just in case could you check for me shipping please? I'd need the 24inch wide roll. How much is there in a roll? 10m? 20m?
I'm asking cause metroscreenworks got back to me and they said shipping a roll would cost me around $200. IMO it's pricey as hell.
I think I am going to end up going...
**UPDATE**
Third day of antibiotics and the male seems to be doing great! Still a little wobbly.
The male is displaying a nice green color and today he took 2 crickets dusted with calcium and 2 mealworms! The male is also drinking on his own :D
I am a little worried about the female...
Thank you Barta! For now I am waiting on numerous responses to see where it's best to acquire it.
I have a friend in Germany who said she'll check for me at her local DIY. Metroscreenworks also replied and said that would ship to Europe. I am just waiting for a response on how much a 28" by...
Yes actually you are right, it is 0.02ml and I administer one drop of it everyday. I shall correct that in the first post. I must have mistyped or got confused. So many things are going through my head right now
This morning I made some bug juice. They seem to like it or just acceptable towards...
Judging from the video your panther looks about the same age as my veiled so no I do not think he's too young for antibiotics. My vet prescribed me some Baytril and told me to administer around 0.02 of a ml to him daily for 5 days. The vet in your friend's area will be able to guide her more...
Does he also wobble a little bit when trying to walk or after he starts gaping and clicking?
I am treating mine for an RI. My male veiled basically does the same thing your panther is doing. I would get him checked at a vet, he may administer some baytril to help fight it off.
Does he...
I've managed to find fiberglass and PVC but I was not sure how resistant they are to heat, UVB and insect bites.
I envy you Americans, over here I dream for a store like that top open up :p Hopefully they ship internationally.
Yes! That's what it was called "Bug Juice" :D It's been on the tip of my tongue all day and I tried looking for it but I couldn't find it.
How many times should I feed them this mixture you think? 3-4 times a day?
Thank you so much Blink! I've been very thankful ever since their arrival, it keeps me away from the computer screen they need so much attention.
Mysteriously, the day I needed Critical Care is the day everyone is out of stock. I checked 3 different exotic pet stores and 2 veterinary clinics...
We have outlets like a home depot but the mesh is all made from plastic or plastic like material which melts very easily and is tearable. Insects can eat through it.
What's AL screen? Aluminum screen? I'm looking on Metroscreenworks but I see no AL screen. Do they do international shipping...
