For crying out loud, don't give her any ideas or she WILL want me to peel them!
Here is finally the video of her mouth movements, there are a couple at the beginning, then you just as well jump to 1:30 unless you're bored, lol. Then there is some footage of her drinking water from the...
Dumb video doesn't want to load... obviously I'm not smart enough to run my smart phone... :D
Today we force feed her two worms, I don't know what else to do, her weight dropped back to 20 grams... once I got them in her mouth she seemed to enjoy them... I don't get it!
She didn't want soup this evening but drank a lot of water, so I'll take that. She's still sitting at 24 grams, so I'll take that too. She watched the worms and worked her tongue.
I got some video of her "winding down" on the tongue movements, and some of her drinking. It's uploading to face...
Definately a vet, and GET IT MOIST, saline is most ideal because it is the same as the fluid inside the body. If it dries out the tissue dies, it's already starting to, you can tell due to the color darkening. A vet should be able to fix it fairly easily, but you would probably want to make sure...
I've been picking out the smaller ones, I don't know if it's an issue, as she did eat a couple before, but I'm wondering if the size is intimidating to her?
She's still really dehydrated, this morning she skin stayed tented. :( She is feeling much better this morning because when I went in...
Awwww... Thank you Anne. Sometimes I forget to stop blabbering. She's so strong and fiesty. She gives me little hisses when she gets her shots. And she's starting to resist it a lot more. It's much harder to get a good quick injection when she's flailing around!
With chins, if they go off...
Sometimes... I feel like I'm talking to myself, lol. One of these days there will be a whole page of just me posting! ( Not saying that no one is reading or replying, just that I obviously talk a lot, you should meet me in person!)
Okay, evening report. Didn't eat much more, two more "bites"...
Would it help to supplement her with Dyne? I didn't know if this would help her get her energy level up to the point where she would eat again on her own... Sorry if it seems like dumb questions, I don't know much about what chams can and can't have, so I'm pretty useless in that area, lol.
So with that type of female they would need to be left in there more than several hours right? We haven't gotten to this bridge so I'm just trying to find out if I've got it right in my head or not.
I have NaCl too, I didn't know if it would help her since she's been sick and has had a questionable amount of vitamins and nutrition.
She still didn't want to eat at lunch... she took one "bite" because I dropped it into her "ledge" that is her lower lip. Give a little more fluids. Have the...
I'm feeling like we're losing ground. She is moving much better than previous as evidenced by the video, but she's down to 22 grams and I couldn't hardly get anything in her yesterday and nothing this morning... I showered her this morning hoping it would make her feel better. Today I swabbed...
My cham doesn't really move too much, but I raise chins and to weight them I often use an icecream bucket, if you painted the inside green maybe it would be less stressfull to him? You can put on the lid if you need, and if he's hard to handle you could kind of "scoop" him into it
I can't offer much first hand advice, but I'm curious because you said you put her in the bin for several hours, is it so deep she can't get out? Can she get in on her own? Or is she that fat she can't move? (not bad fat ya know )
From what I've been told and read she should have full time...
I'm curious that you said every three weeks for currently active MBD? We've been doing shots daily... the improvement is out of this world and amazing. I personally would not give up yet if you've only been doing shots every 3 weeks for a severe case of MBD.
In the end, no matter what you...
This morning she watched the worms, not mouth action. I'm going to not feed her any soup until tonight, I'm going to try to get her to eat on her own first. She seems to want to.
I also took a swab and water and working on debriding her mouth on the outside where it is exposed, I did not mess...
That is her "baby enclosure" we planned on getting a new one actually right before she got sick! We have vines and stuff for her, but I took them all out when she got sick so she didn't get hurt, this is living it up... for a while all she got was a towel and fake plants on the wall! LOL...
Okay, never did youtube working and just got angry so I took a break. I did upload it to my facebook and made it public so please let me know if you can see it. It shows her walking and improvement! Her favorite spot is on top of that pot, lol. She's mauled the plant, but I figure it helps make...
So, I took some video... but since google thinks they need to have their paws in everything I can not upload to youtube, I've been trying to almost two hours now... yes I do have better things to be doing. So hopefully you guys will get to see a video soon...
No pus, not "cottage cheese", no skin rubbing off with a q-tip... I don't know if it's damage, it continued to get worse after we stopped pulling, and it didn't start until 3 days after we last forced her mouth open.
She does have some ticking when she breathes, the bottom lip has gone from...
I'll try to get some new mouth pics tomorrow. I'm very concerned about her lower lip... it's like swollen and "hard" or firm. Shouldn't the baytril be working by now some? Today she looks worse than yesterday, but she does seem to be using her tongue more while drinking, and ate plenty of...
