It's plastic, my experience with plastic and drilling is not a good record, lol. We'll probably just get her a new one ( cage that is ).
She hasn't eaten again today, but is feisty. I left two worms in there. She really watched them... I need to get a better watering system set up I think...
Popwell I love your set up! Where did you get the "leaves" to make the drip set up?
I am so jealous and all of these cage pics are making me feel like we are bad cham parents on the housing end!
I'm going to have to disagree to a point as well. Orchids LOVE misting. In fact, ideally an orchid should not be watered, but misted all of the time. I mist mine nearly daily.
DO NOT "POT" ORCHIDS! Orchids are not like other plants, they do not grow IN soil. They grow on soil. If you're not...
Wood IS something I know about! :D
I did not read the bake or not to bake thread, but I have a question... why NOT bake? Baking dries it out thoroughly and prevents molding, it kills a lot of what might "come in" with it, because you don't know what was sitting ( or pooping ) on the branch...
Thanks a good idea... I was worried about her falling into it, but yea, just a cloth or something would work. We're thinking about upgrading to a new enclosure now that she seems to be doing so much better, but that will work until we get one!
I think it might break if I try... I've been keeping the drip on a real slow rate into the plants mostly and we didn't have a flood yesterday. I have not seen her drink off of the drip, but she is still drinking from me.
She has not eaten any more worms, but her weight is holding at 22 ( I...
I've said it before, and will say it again, I'm not a cham expert, I'm not even going to say knowledgeable. But I know what it feels like to not know what's going on when your cham is sick, and to rely on others. But if the OP can't fill out the form to help people help the cham... everyone is...
I'm not a cham expert, but usually that sort of discoloration comes with lack of circulation from damage or occlusion. Sometimes horses will lose use of their hind ends due to parasitic aneurysm. Any which way if you can't figure out what is causing her hind end to have that sort of pallor the...
I think you should find a vet, even if you have to make payments surely a vet somewhere would work with you, if that's not an option I know you don't want to consider this but perhaps there is someone in your area you could surrender him to that could afford vet care for him.
Our motto is if...
I guess lunch time worms are worse than morning worms! She saw me and slide right down the side of her vine and plants into the corner. So I got her out, showed her the worms, put them in the usual spot then put her in... she went right back down the side!
She's been having smaller but more...
That's definitely been her attitude this morning! Drank a lot this morning, really thought about eating, opened wide and hissed at me, hid from me, ran from me... well as fast as she can run. She has really been watching the crickets, don't know if she's caught any, but I think maybe they'll...
Usually Hailey is the one who breaks things, this was the other one, it's been sooo hard on her! She's a runner and jumper and always on a natural sugar high type of kid... so it's just been torment for her.
I got Pascal a little box of little crickets today, she seems very excited about them...
I cant wait to see if she eats this evening again! I think I'll pick up some little crickets ( which I keep forgetting to do ) if I get time on lunch. My youngest broke her leg this last week and so I need to be home to pick her up from school. We live 2 blocks away in a town of 600 people...
So I guess my impatience finally paid off... Pascal ate TWO worms! She ate them quickly and with precision! She seems really happy that her "vine" is back in her cage. I'm sure you guys know the ones, you can get at the pet stores, fake bendy vines, I have it bent so there are kind of two...
No, only the top is mesh on the one she is in now. Today after school she was literally hiding from me by hanging on the side of the wines... I thought she was gone! Obviously she's feeling alright... at first I thought she was falling or stuck, but when I went to "help her" she moved away like...
The enclosure she's in right now wouldn't work well as it's taller than wide, but I could put her in an aquarium for now? She is currently up to about 8" of climb upward with her fake vine, and with softer viney plants under to help catch her if she falls, and towels on the bottom.
I'll definitely check the list and go off that. :D
My husband is wondering if she would eat more if she could be closer to the light? She is always trying to climb up... is this just a cham thing trying to be high or is it possible that there is something there? I just assumed she just wanted...
We have some window screens that were going to get tossed out, they're about 20 - 24" across and about 4 1/2' tall, I was wondering if you guys thought these would make good walls for Pascal's "big" cage for when she gets better? Is it too narrow? Let me know what you think!
Didn't eat again today... really watched though. Drank a lot. Weight at 22 grams, so we're still holding... Was pretty feisty, just hoping she'll start eating soon!
Some people have recommended baby food, what kind should I get? I might try that for a change of pace and see if it helps any....
