There aren't much qualifications to become a "breeder". If you want to run a side business selling yours or someone else's babies you'll need a local biz permit and to pay taxes. If you want to be a breeder for the sake of calling yourself a breeder you don't need much, just breed your animals...
Attached is an older pic but IMO a good example of Ankify boarder Ambanjas, or what you'd find in Ankify in general. From what I've seen they show more yellows and brighter, more intense blue bars than what would be considered typical Ambanjas.
Smuggling Parson eggs to farming locations in Indo and Thailand is not unheard of. Once hatched they become farmed animals that are legal to export to say England and then to the US or Japan.
That IMO is what would have been considered a Sirama "back in the day", also the same as an Ambilobe/Picasso. Calumma Andersonii I'm sure can relay that part of the story.
Chris,
How many clutches have you been able to take a look at? At first when these guys came in, and having seen them at that Expo they were first at, I assumed it was a paradox type trait that would not breed true, so it is very interesting that you could get 60% of a clutch expressing this...
Interesting. Do you have a straight shot of the animal instead of a side view? It "looks" to me to be some type of inflamation - the animal might have a wicked sinus infection maybe?? - although at that angle it is too difficult tell one way or the other. The liquid in the pic looks clear, is...
You also have to realize that the trait you're seeing expressed is probably random in the amount of white or "translucent-ness" you see. This is similar to a Pied Ball Python. So, having one animal be more white than another means nothing. It would be interesting to see what happens when you...
You'll find pockets of Jackson's like this all up and down the California Coast. There is large a group of Jackson's in the Northern Santa Barbara (Goleta) area that I used to occasionally check out when I was in College. A few of the area residents said they've seen them there since the early...
A good friend of mine let me know earlier today that Paul LaFaver died late last year. The newer people in the last few years might not have know of him, as he kept a low profile, but he was one of the first guys to get to work with Ambilobes when they were first imported. I believe he was also...
Nice!
Hey Poh,
Any updates on these guys? Always nice to see animals you produce go on to produce more animals by somebody else. Cyclops was a heck of a display animal as is Rekka, good to see the bloodline going strong. I believe you picked up the female from Tyler's red body line, correct...
I wouldn't buy from Matt at MG again. The guy will say he has x, y and z product ready to ship and a month will go by before he even drops it in the mail. Prices are very good but customer service is terrible and you've got to wait forever to get what you ordered.

Ardi Abate used to put together trips to Madagascar. From the pics she has shown me it looks like a great time, that is if you don't mind roughing it and sweating your @ off! Hahaha. I don't know if she is still doing them or not though.
Bill's trips look great too. His next trip I wager...
Hey Nick,
Have you been trying to breed these guy at all with what comes through? How thick did the humidity actually get in their range? Post some pics from your trip!

Ambilobes are fun, but the tough thing is holding yourself to only getting 1! A lot of good animals from various bloodlines floating around too and at good prices. The Kammers have produced quite a few nosy crosses that have turned out nice.

I didn't know they had discontinued them. Is that the entire Cybershot line? They take an amazing picture for the small price tag, provided you have a stead handy and pay attention to a couple basic photography rules. I'm almost shocked they've been discontinued. I took this pic on a 3.2 mega...
