Damn the poor guy is just asking about the topic, why ya'll acting like he just bred 90 babies, put them in a box, and came here because he has no idea what to do with them?
Bacteria obviously comes from things such as feeders, poop, etc. Standing water alone won't just accumulate bacteria (I mean obviously some bacteria, but nothing significant) that will kill your chameleon; we see this in our tanks/reservoir for miskings. That's why standing water can actually...
Do people grind up the kayle, carrots, etc. into a paste? I just throw in organic blackberries, carrots, and greens as they are without doing anything to them....is this wrong?
I think veiled chameleons are actually the most popular when it comes down to the numbers (due to mass availability pretty much at every petsmart/petco). Panthers on the other hand usually require you to buy them online, though some chains have one available very rarely from what I've seen. Also...
What bulbs are you using? Ideally, one linear bulb should be enough. Sounds like you are using compact bulbs in a fixture that can house more than one; if so switch to a linear fluorescent tube.
I purchased this umbrella plant a few months ago. I'm certain it had been treated with pesticides/insecticides before being shipped to my local store, but for at least 3 months it has been clean.
Unfortunately, there's still some white residue on the plant. I'm not quite sure if this is...
To answer your question "why does my 4 minutes work" -- You're not going to see any short-term differences from a chameleon who gets 3 minutes vs 7 minutes of misting, as long as they're both hydrated. You're misting your chameleon and he's drinking and cleaning his eyes, that's why your misting...
There should be some relatively clear signs of horns arising/horns shortly after birth. (in males)
Here's a pic of mine. He's somewhere between 3-4 weeks old and he's had 3 visible horns/bumps every since he was born.
I'm currently trying to find a new ambilobe or ambanja Panther.
FLChams, where I usually buy, is out of stock, forcing me to resort to some of the other places.
I came across CBReptiles, who claimed that their Ambanjas are descendants of Kammerflage Kreation's chameleons. Anyone have...
There are still some reputable breeders that distribute healthy and stable veileds. Just gotta find the right ones; I'm pretty sure FLChams have pretty good ones.
Where did you get yours if I may ask?
You seem to have a coil UVB as opposed to a linear UVB from what I can see in the picture? Sometimes those can cause harm to Cham's eyes. I highly doubt that's why his eye is bothering him at the moment, but its something to think about in the future.
The fact that its functioning though (he...
