Its very possible that there may have been an irritation in his eye from a small particle. For them it would of been a pain in the you know what to get out.
Glad he is doing ok from the looks of it. Keep an eye on him and if he is moving his eye around, eating, drinking and pooping I wouldnt...
It all depends on the area and the tap water source. Here in Western NY we get our water from water sheds down in the finger lakes region and have some of the best water in the states so I use regular cold tap water. I know this because I use to have a couple saltwater tanks and the PPM was 133...
Or do what I did and get a bearded dragon that will go through about 30 crickets a day...when they get to big she eats them up no matter what size they are :D
Working on it...ive had stunners in the past from the Kammers...Nosy Be on its way in a few weeks as well. Shall update more as the months go by...but this goes to show people that with patience your lil one will turn out to be a good looking cham before you know it.
Just uploaded a picture of my cham that I received from the Kammers a couple months ago in May...
Sire
Lil one when I first got him at 7gs in May.
Photo taken last month sometime...outside getting some sun after being sprayed on...not the warmest day either so hence the darker...
Its the nature of the beast...Chams are not puppy dogs...they are solitary animals in which we have the pleasure of keeping in our habitat. They are to be respected and enjoyed. I can't say anyone here has had a cham be their best friend. I had a chilled out Nosy Be once that I regret giving up...
Here in NY we can't ask what local anyone comes from with the new legislation passed...thats been replaced by a box you fill in to just say your alive.
I have a Nosy Be coming from the Kammers in a few weeks time...I had another one of theirs before and he was the best tolerated cham I ever owned...so I am partial to the Nosys myself. I love the blues that the Kammers produce and right now have an almost 5month of Ambilobe from them that is...
Nihlus is the sire to my new Nosy Be, I liked the dark blue stripes he has compared to Sinatra so I went with him...I was mixed in getting an Ambilobe or Nosy Be for my first cham in returning to the hobby and decided on an Ambilobe because of how they change colors so much between being so...

If you dont mind me asking who is the father is the Nosy Be your picking up from the Kammers? I am a long time fan of theirs and was thinking about picking up another little guy because the current panther I have is moving up to his larger cage very soon...
I can completely relate to this as I ran into the same situation with a mall petshop owner who had a veiled chameleon and a bearded dragon in an exo terra cage at the same time.
Watched as to pet store "helpers" were trying to force the veiled to drink and wondering why it was not doing well...
Yes he is! Ive had him for about a week and a half now...that was when I first got him.

All the chams in my picture folder on here are from the Kammers and I have had nothing but great success. I keep the handling to around when I feed him in the evening when he is more active so he can gain my trust more. I didnt touch him or approach the cage for the first few days except to feed...
