Here are a few pics of our recent addition. We have had him for around 1 month. He is w/c and seems rather content in his new environment--Any guess on his age?

Huge Ambilobe at local pet shop

Yeah! Unfortunately I don't have a vacant enclosure at this time. I limit my self to two chams, although this guy is making me consider three!

Got stung by a wasp, ooch!

Some minor swelling is normal. If your foot becomes very swollen and itchy it could be a sign of an allergic reaction. If it was a serious attack (anaphylaxis), you would have known within minutes. Serious, life threatening allergies tend to become more severe with each exposure, so your...

Huge Ambilobe at local pet shop

First of all, sorry, I don't have any pics. I'll bring my camera next time I to the pet store. A local exotic pet store has an absolutely gorgeous and massive panther. I have never seen one this big. Even his head seems abnormally large. He seems healthy (they've had him for 2 yrs) although...

    First post...Rate my enclosure

Nice enclosure! The hanging idea is great--it enables you to keep the enclosure at a higher level, which your cham will love. It should be replaced with a larger enclosure as your cham reaches adulthood. What are you doing for misting/drinking?

What does your spouse (etc) think

Just curious what your spouses (girlfriend, boyfriend, roommate.etc) think of your fascination with chameleons? Are they supportive and involved or do they think you're nuts? The first time i brought a chameleon into our home my wife said " ewww, what is that!"--She wouldn't go anywhere near...

    Why

Btw, I didn't mean any disrespect to veileds when I used the pickup truck analogy--I have a veiled and she's amazing. I was just comparing the colour spectrums of veileds and panthers. Whats wrong with pickup trucks anyway? The new F150 is gorgeous!

    Why

Lol. Yeah and an oustalet would be a range rover and jacksons? a jeep!
  19. jackscham

    Why

Yeah, panthers are the corvette of chameleons---sleek and flashy, whereas veileds are like pick up trucks. I think first time owners, especially, are drawn into the crazy colour schemes that panthers display and are willing to pay more.
