Well, I bought them as waxworms... and they look like waxworm (from what I saw in the web). But here's a pic:
They're around 2 - 2,5 mm (notice the "web" near them)
The shipment has arrived...
Few questions:
1) 90% of the worms are in a silk coccoon. When I press them slightly they're "soft". It is okay to tear the coccoon? I did it to a few worms and they just crawl out of it and look ok.
Are they gonna spend all day weaving? I left them a few...
My pygmy not only fears me, but he also ignores when I put food in the enclosure... I've only seen him eat 4 or 5 times and actively hunt a couple of times (one of the times because there was a delay in shipment and he was REALLY hungry when I put those crickets in), I waved at him some waxworms...
Thanks for the input.
About catching those moths, any trick? I can imagine myself opening the lid, catching a moth and releasing 20 others in the process...
Thanks. I never tried feeding them the moths. But I read it here:

My first batch of waxies is on the way...
Hi all!
From what I've read, if kept at room temperature (in my case high 70's), waxworms will initiate their cicle and in a couple of weeks I'll have wax moths, correct?
Althought I'm starting to breed them, I want to save a few worms to feed my cham once in a while.
Question 1: How do...
Hi all!
I have a pygmy cham for about a year now and he's 2 years old (give or take a few months). Since I got him I only handled him maybe 5, 6 times, he's very shy and starts vibrating when a touch him, so I leave him alone. I watch him a lot, seen him eat a few times, but that's it...
Hi all!
After a few months the vegetation really took over this enclosure... looking good! Only problem is... wheres the cham? :)
And after a little search... here it is!
I'm really motivated to getting him a female (or 2!) so he can share this "jungle" with someone... but it's sooo...
Hi all!
Just a simple question:
Did you see Arachnophobia? Well I have the same issue as the guy in that movie but with roaches. I can't stand the damn buggers! No way around this issue... I can live with crix, zophoba, tenebrios, flies, silkworms, any worm,... but not roaches!
I currently...
I also lost one due to eye problems... I believe I had a stronger lamp than what I needed. I switch to a weaker one and elevated a little from the top of the enclosuer and it's been working fine so far...
Hi all.
Can't find Hydroton in Portugal... been to several stores and nothing, tried online but it was too expensive, today I talked to a lady that said that little pieces of brick (common redish brick) has the same effect has hydroton in draining the excess of water! Is that true?!?
Thanks!
In October 27 I used Black Jungle's online shop http://www.blackjungle.com to buy some substrate and hydroton. I checked in the site if they do International Shipments and aparently they do them. In the end I used Paypal to pay. They withdrawed their money from my account right away and I...
I didn't! I didn't! :) Another forum member told me not to and I didn't... I used terricil or something, but only for a few days, then I stopped because I wasn't sure it was helping much and kept humidity and some mist in the eyes do the job... I think she's not 100% yet, but still alive and...
Incredible enough, she's still alive and the eyes look a little better! :)Saw her eat a cric last week, but I believe she eats more while I'm out...
She's a fighter!!
On top of that, she's shedding! Should I take any special care??
Thanks!
