I have a soil eater.......and I put stones on the top anyway but either deliberatly or accidently he shoots at the stones to dislodge them  I now cover the pot tops with mesh.
Also the mesh is a lot easier for when you are moving about in the viv...it drove me nuts everytime I so much...
Also, hibiscus ( lovely big colourful munchable blooms lol ) and nastirsians ( we get seeds and grow these aswell)....and passion flower.....oooooo and I've heard Pothos although apparently if the trig has a break in it or breaks it emits a sap that can cause eye iritation.......
Is that a screen at the back? Just thinking about airflow..not just ventilation.
And I am speaking from experience when I say it's be only a matter of weeks before she gets onto that bulb ;)..the type of viv it is I can see there's not much hope of getting it outside so it's either a lamp guard...
Hi Jackie
Basil was a couple of weeks older than Lucy when he joined us but still did this occasionally. He eventually came out of it and has evolved into the darling little ' I hate the world ' lovable chappy he is now :D
It could be, with her basking most the day that her built in...
This is exactly how Norris started his shed, although the first appearance was on his ' bottom lip ' rather than the top. Other than that it's identical. Stayed that way for about 4/5 days gradually getting a tiny bit bigger, and I mean tiny, barely noticable, then just burst free and shed all...
:D ...one of the reasons we have to sometimes resort to glass / combo vivs ;)
............and an umbrella :D
Oh to be in a permanent warm sunny climate :(
I keep my locusts in an 28" exo with a mesh top / lid. I buy in bulk and seeing as there are so many of them and they like lots of space and I had one spare anyway, figured this the best way. Easier to house, catch and keep clean. Also allows room for food placement so they don't have to eat in...
Beardie....
They can be skittish and fast as babies but calm down quite quickly and by that stage don't eat that much. Pooping is only once every 4 or 5 days...
Naturally curious, love coming out ( well mine does anyway :D ) and they have a great personality. Most people here ( uk ) say...
Hi Chris
I was advised on here last night ( thank you ) that as they get older they shed in parts..as in ..head then body etc.
Whether your Cham is at this stage I can't say but all I know is mine ( 4 & 5 month ) still, it seems, shed in nearly one hit !
Have to say it's...
Vic......sounds great...take pics and post a diary for those of us who need to / want to for their own reasons ......maintaining heat etc.
Like you I want to integrate my set up into my lounge furniture rather than have a reptile room with a chair lol
I have been at mine solid since...
Chris, this is what I found, was a happy medium and it works well. Allowing maintaining consistant temps and good air flow. Although some sucessfully do use all mesh here the main reason I made the choice I have is due to owning dogs...wanted full stability as my lounge isn't actually a lounge...
If in the UK...this is a well used company....an assortment available

Hi Chris...I'm in the UK too....< waves >
I have one of the tall wooden ones but replaced the glass with mesh.....works well all round, ventilation, temps especially in winter.....
