Curious on in breeding on panther eggs

constant temperatures like that can cause long delays before development begins sometimes. I've incubated at all sorts of temperature routines. A couple of times constant temps in your range resulted in hatch times of 13 months for me! It is better to let them get a bit cooler at night if...

    Building an enclosure in Hawaii

What you will need will kind of depend on whether you are keeping it indoors or outdoors. In hawaii- an outdoor location where it is a bit more shady than sunny but some broken sunlight is always available will be much easier than an indoor enclosure. Here in the summer I keep my jacksons under...

    Subcutaneous worm on eyelid

None that I can see. Maybe because I use that slurry that I mix up. I get steady weight gains during treatment and the lizards choose to eat on their own during the day as well- so I don't really think there is much loss of appetite. I usually mist longer so they can drink a bit more as well...

    Heat pad for gecko???

It sounds like your leopard gecko is healthy and doing fine. There are many ways to provide heat- it sounds like your way with the heat bulbs is working out just fine. You don't need a heat pad unless you want to change heating methods. Mealworms are fine for the diet of leopard geckos, as...

    When dealing with exporters...

yeah- my remarks are just meant to reflect frustration at the situation and not a reflection not your animals. I realize they are all pretty much collected like this. It's just a pity they are- it would be as simple as carrying separate sacks tied to a short pole to prevent a lot of stress and...

    When dealing with exporters...

Ignorant fools are probably carrying all of them around in that sack with the branches and leaves. Check the bite marks on the females. Good call. I'm glad I'm not the one trying to figure out who is good or bad to buy from in the 3rd world.

    Madagascar new arrivals...rare!

Oh I agree- don't get me wrong. The bite mark is not a huge deal in and of itself and I would not hesitate to buy them myself if they were in my budget/plans. But even your comparison is a reflection on the state of the industry. Improvements in collection are long overdue. Bite marks only...

    Madagascar new arrivals...rare!

    Madagascar new arrivals...rare!

brevicornis and malthe are so cool. You would think with the collection limits and higher pricing, the exporters/collectors would take a little more care with their handling. Bite marks like on your o'shaugnessy female are just almost inexcusable for modern times IMO. If the indigenous want to...

    Subcutaneous worm on eyelid

Yeah- I guess I should add the disclaimer that if someone finds these worms under the skin, it is best to take the lizard for professional veterinary treatment. It's a little different when you grew up in a veterinary household.

    Subcutaneous worm on eyelid

I'll see what I can do. I guess I need to learn how to convert the file? It is an avi format now. OK- done- found a good video conversion website online free. Here it is in mp4 format. If this is no good, let me know a good format. Will be good reference when I start up my blog again- I'd like...
