That one hit a little close to home for me as we are both in Tennessee. My local water is fine. It actually contains more calcium in an equal size glass then milk does. I try not to drink it that much as I do not want kidney stones.
No one really know why they eat soil. I suppose it could be seeking out minerals, could be for hydration or it is possible they are just exploring the parameters of their enviroment. I use to eat dirt too. No actual reason just curious I guess.
There are a couple things about soil that...
Did you ever think he was going crazy when he sees her because he might want to eat a descent sized meal. Chameleons do eat their own kind that is not a problem at all for them.
Chameleons do not hug, cuddle or talk out their problems. He only wants one thing from her and she only wants one...
I would think 12-15 crickets would be a better amount for the age and a guess at relative size. With other feeders to get a number kind of size them up to the crickets.
There are some associated dangers with bamboo but I do not think any would really apply to chameleons or really most animals.
I would not recommend one for a primary plant but they do not make a bad addition. They really just do not have enough climbing structure to them. On the other...
Yeah Tygerr that is what I ment by I am to lazy. You would have to be pretty diligent about picking up the feces daily. Straight sand might be better but I think the color of the peat moss makes it look more natural for their area. The sand, peat moss and the panty hose do drain slow so you...

A false bottom raised up about an inch with a drain on the floor, egg crates (plastic ones) wrapped in panty hose and then a couple inches of substrate. A veiled cage would...
I would think that increasing the feeder amount by like two would help his weight get back up. I never had a problem with parasites though. I do this for two weeks after my female lays eggs and she puts back on some weight.
Worms like most chameleon keepers use are high in fat. They have...

How often?
My male veileds have all did this. They usually are just making the rounds. Looking for food, inspecting their territory...etc... It is usually just one quick pass from one side to the other side.
Now it is possible that some problems exhist with your set-up which is forcing...
The size of the cage really depends on the size of the chameleon. If you where getting a chameleon in the 3-4 month range you will be better off with a smaller cage. Say a 38 gallon or smaller version. Little ones are not as good at hunting or regulating their temperature. A smaller cage...
I would agree with Brad. It could very well be root rot. If nothing else some soils can become quite pungent if it is wet and warm.
How are you misting your chameleons?
