If you are feeding appropriately sized crickets, why not let them free range in the cage? He might not have caught on to the feeder cup method yet. Most young ones like to hunt. Just don't leave a bunch of uneaten crickets in the cage before the lights go out and it should be fine. You...
I make an "H" shape out of PVC on the top of the cage and use that to create the anchor point for the plant to hang. Either a screw eye or a hole with a loop of wire works.
