So no sealing the plastic? I have a train built into the middle of the cage with a PVC pipe running down into a 2 gallon bucket. It works very well but sometimes a little bit of water gets out
For those of you who set up a drainage system for your cages, do you deal the plastic piece at the bottom with silicone to keep water from leaving the cage, and going into the drains you made? Or how do you guys prevent water from going out of the sides since there is a tiny gap. Any help would...
I have one set up on my Jackson's but I may stop using it because I think my live plant and misting system are doing a good enough job! But I would have one on back up just in case
Do the shower liners help you out with humidity too? I have a mistking system hooked into a aqua zamp raindome and it's amazing! I also run a humidifier but I was thinking that I may not need to run the humidifier during the day if the liner helps with that
What do you have around each cage is that a shower curtain or? Is that to help keep in humidity I'm thinking of doing something like this but how do you keep it on and all?! If anything could you pm pics of your cages and how you have the shower curtains set up?! It'd be a huge help
I heard a tragic story from an inexperienced pet store housing a male and female together in the same cage. Apparently they were trying to achieve dominance in the cage and the female kept pulling on the males horns. After a couple days the employee went back to the cage to feed them and the...
Right now I'm running a 24" t5 6% uv light and daylight combo, I'm also running 2 yes 2 150w lights on my Jackson's cage and his ambient temps are still at 63-65. It's cold here in jersey and running these bulbs is running up the electric bill. Is there a hotter light that I can run one light...
What brands do you guys recommend on terrariums? Does anyone know of any cages that are screen and glass combos? I found one at petco that's screen and glass that I like but I want a higher end product if they are out there? Let me know your thoughts on all cages though! I have a penn plax and...
Nah I don't dust them at all. I may dust them with reptical vitamins soon just so I'm sure he's getting his vitamins. But they aren't his only feeder, I feed him a variety of insects so he gets them dusted. But the Phoenix worms are by far his fav.
I used a monsoon system for my Jackson's for a couple weeks. He seemed to love it and kept hydrated. After a couple of weeks I decided to do a mistking and love it even more. I have a raindome hooked up instead of a nozzle and I would recommend one. I'm getting a panther soon so I will be...
It's not that they aren't friendly, it's that they get stressed easily. If you hand feed them they associate you with feeding time. And slowly tolerate you. Eventually you can handle them from time to time but not for hours. I also have my chameleon in the basement. I live in New Jersey and...
I get them off floridaherps with free shipping and my Jackson's loves them because of how much they wiggle around. I purchased them for my geckos once and then figured I'd see if my Jackson's would eat them too, since he's very picky. I've come to find that they are his favorite meal!
Of course there would be a heat source, the point I'm making is even with my Jackson's I have 2 basking sites in a 2x2x4 terrarium with 150w bulbs in each and his basking is 83 and ambient is 65
